#6 Nate Brown got the Penn match off with a bang, or Fall shall we say in 1:30. ‘Hawks then reeled off a string of bonus point wins highlighted by Riddick at 197 and Parker at 125 leadng to a 21-0 break at the half. Randy Cruz then put on a clinic almost getting a third fall in three matches. Team is looking tough, even with a couple subs in the lineup. Team faces Rider Sunday afternoon at Grace. Rider coming in off a huge upset of Wisconsin, so this could be a lot tougher than many expect.

I’ll never understand wrestling recruiting. We are allowed 9.9 scholarships for the entire team. There are about 40 guys in the wrestling room. We lose a couple of 1 year grad students from the lineup and have another large recruiting class coming in. Few are considered blue chippers but most are guys that have the potential of making an impact. When I get a bit of time, I’ll give the list for 2015 with some data.

No. Been out of the loop lately with, of all things, work! Santoro is putting together another nice class–and we already have some commits from JUNIORS in high school, including the stud heavyweight (220) Jordan Woods at Boyertown. Ranked #1 in the country at that weight.

A good number are redshirting this year. The kid from Oregon, forget his name, could be an impact kid from what I hear. There will also be some lineup adjustments when some injured grapplers return. Nice to have some decent depth and competition “in the room”. It’s the only way you get better.
