we usually recruit about 5 LBs and only 2 last year, so 6 may not be that out of order

With two LBs playing out of position at FB, recruiting a few is not so bad. Also, aside from Caslow, the guys who saw time are undersized, while the few other frosh/soph who have size havent seen field yet…so as a whole really dont impress as a group. None seem big enough to move to DE (a mistake to force an undersized guy to do, and Andy has done often) and maybe not fast enough to play SS.

Sometimes we may be limited by the ‘best athlete available’ at a position, a guy who wants to play at LU. Thats okay, take ’em. We do seem thin with quality RB, WR, DBs, right?

Yup,Doc. I guess also that not all of these LBs will wind up playing there.
Best athlete available should nearly always be topconsideration I think

    DocQb,
At 210#, Caslow is very much undersized as an ILB IMHO. He runs essentialy the same 40 time as Tyler Ward and I still think would be an ideal SS. He has a great nose for the ball.
In my perfect world, Lehigh should have a NG (assuming a 3-4) of 275# or larger. DE in the 245-250# range. ILB should be at least 225# while the OLB can be a bit smaller but quicker. To that end, I would switch Ripanti and Laub too. Just my opinion.

LBs and DL will likely IMO be shaken up a bit. Inside, would like to see a rotation of Kondas,Hobbie and Cal.Outside a rotation of Laub,Ripanti Robb and Caslow. This class will I think get a lot of early season PT on STs. Whatever staff does D must be better next season. DL should be better with Stubbs,Caveness,Gille et al on the rotation.
