Tried to break it down best I could. I really love the continuity on offense returning, with Mayes, Zach, Short, Dom, Pelletier AND Casey all coming back.

One area I think that needs addressing, oddly, is RB. I think they need 1-2 more guys there for depth and to cultivate the “RB of the future” there. Next year they’ll have 1 SR and 3 JR at that position.

I think that Chadbourn may be the real wild card in this year’s recruiting class. Listed as an athlete, defense is where he may most likely make an immediate impact. However, with the influx of a lot of DBs in this class, I assume that he may transition to offense in the the future.
I’m not even sure the coaches know what his role will be until he gets into camp. Just a thought.

Agree TMH . Same thoughts as to Portoreal.
Class so far targets speed and athleticism.
As you noted 5th years may limit #s this year. No indication that Kaufman or Mitchell have applied for a 5th.
For me top 3 needs now are a DL or 2 , a LB and an OL.

well if the class is 20, I would like to see 3 DB, 3 DL, 4 LB, 3 OL, 3 WR, 1 each QB, RB, TE, FB

something close to that keeps continuity at all positions

if any recruit is ready to start as a Fr, I would hope it is a LB

any word on weather Q Jones will be back next year?

Given his relationships with teammates and coaches seems likely. No indication that I’ve seen otherwise.

    van,
The problem is this class will likely be nowhere close to 20 with 17 seniors (2 of which are likely to be returning).

Here is what we are pretty sure of

    1.)Jorge Portorreal…Ath…I see at WR
    2,)Tahjon McKiney Cole…WR
    3.)Divine Buckrham…DB
    4.)Stu Cundiff…..DB
    5.)Jaylen Floyd…DB
    6.)Bryan Neal…DB
7.)Evan Chadbourn…ATH…Possibly DB since RB is crowded.
    8.)Chris Fournier….OL
    9.)D’Andre Blue Eli…Ath…better at DB
    10.)Addison Shoup-QB

That gives us potentially 6 guys recruited at DB already. not including Portoreal who returned a couple of picks for TDs this year. We do tend to get surprises in the week leading up to signing day though.

#s will depend on a number of factors. How many partials will we give? My guess is most of the 10 verbals are full rides. How many 5th years will we have? 2 now. We could have a couple of more.

In the past Andy has tried to recruit every position each year. Last year and this the emphasis has been on specific position groups. Hopefully we can add at least 4 or 5 more in some other position groups.

Conversely we don’t know how may partials are graduating either. Where do we stand as far as roster size for next year assuming Short, Duffy and Q return with no surprises?

    At 69 including all WOs.
Pure guesswork on the mix of fulls and partials in seniors.
We have 21 spots under roster cap.WOs are not a static number so there may be a few more.
How many partials will Andy spend? How much aid is left? Neither question can we answer.

17 seniors, but I believe we are below the roster cap with attrition, which is why I chose 20, but who really knows how many will be added, and walk-ons are sometimes hard to identify until they enroll

But we do know the WOs on roster. They come and go ebery year. Very few stay more than a year or two.
We will know only when class is done.

The reason I mentioned it was because I was told that we were almost done recruiting and that the class was going to be about 14-15. I cannot vouch for its accuracy though.

Given senior class size and the verbals already in place 14 or 15 makes sense to me.
