Yep, the blow out loss to Nova really hurts our power rating, nothing that can be done about that now. Just continue to win!
March 31, 2012 at 1:08 am #5705That was an incredible last 42 minutes of lacrosse for Lehigh. For the 1st 18 minutes they could do nothing right but for the last 42, they could do nothing wrong. Lehigh 9-4.
As the announcer concluded his broadcast…How good is Lehigh..very good..watch out college lacrosse world.
I can live in the moment.March 31, 2012 at 7:23 pm #5706Glued to Navy match. Announcers very complimnetaryto Cassesse as they s/b. Just magnificent D after slow start. Fantoni took over O and ran it superbly. The Canadian kid is a real sharpshooter. This is a fun diversion off season. Haven’t really followed LU Lax until from the late 90s til last yr.
April 1, 2012 at 1:28 am #5707Watched the game last night, what a 2nd half. Canadian frosh corbett kid was huge, but poillon and the defense are what make this team click, just so solid in their own end. Interesting to hear broadcasters talk about how he was set to go to UVA and then UVA brought in other frosh goalie so recruiting opened back in and coach got back in there and brought him to LU. Amazing. National TV at Navy and coach suspends leading scorer, let everyone know who the boss is, runs a clean ship, much respect….success coach is having combined with pedigree and background, make future look very promising..
April 1, 2012 at 1:58 am #5708Well Nova got taken out today by Penn State, does not make our loss to Nova look any better, but makes Nova’s chance of making playoffs that much less. Still like PL chance to get 2 in the playoffs.
April 1, 2012 at 5:09 pm #5709I watched the Lehigh-Duke game enough times now that I fully realize that games are not played on paper..but…if I had to analyze the next two games on paper, I like Lehigh’s chances.
Colgate…I’m not sure Colgate is playing their best lacrosse right now, losing to Navy last week and escaping a dogfight against Army (as did Lehigh)yesterday .Looking at their schedule, I’m finding it difficult to believe that their SOS is higher than Lehigh with their only significant win being against #15 Fairfield.
For the most part, they simply outscore their opponents avg 13.6 g/g and allowing 9.3. Peter Baum is a scoring machine with 55 pts in 10 games. The problem for them is I don’t believe they have faced a defense anywhere near Lehigh’s. If I remove one early abberation against Villanova early in the year, opponents have only averaged 4.3 g/g and that is against some formidable opponents. Allowing nearly 10 g/g may not be good enough for the Gate. BTW both of their losses have been at home.Bucknell
This team is very similar to Colgate. Lost some close games to quality opponents but biggest win may have been Penn State last week. They are another scoring machine avg 12.64 g/g but also allowing 9.36. They too have a star in Billy Eisenreich although he is probably a better passer. Lehigh has done well this year shutting down prolific scorer. Like Colgate, I’m not sure that they have faced such a tough defense and allowing over 9 g/g may not be enough in this one. A trobuling stat for the Bison is only winning .446% of the faceoffs which may be crucial in a game of this magnitude. This game will be played at home. -
