Game notes up. Haggins and Anders
on out at TE. No other changes.
September 18, 2012 at 10:46 pm #6794OL shuffled again, Ruley back at Center, Pelligrini to Guard and Vuono back to tackle. All have started at one position or another previously.
September 18, 2012 at 10:47 pm #6795Watched Liberty press conference with Coach Gill, seems that they have some guys banged up. No decision on who starts at QB for them, both have played.
September 19, 2012 at 12:29 am #6798Unfortunately OL dance seems to be an ongoing song. Did not notice after seeing Haggins out. Good catch.
September 19, 2012 at 6:38 pm #6803Haggins cleared to play. Will go to Liberty.
September 20, 2012 at 2:22 am #6811Speaking of TE, Dylan Colgate looked like the real deal on Saturday. I did not watch closely enough to determine blocking and speed, but he seems to get open, have good hands and looks tough to bring down … If Haggins is back, could be quite the tandem. Lots of depth.
September 20, 2012 at 2:54 am #6812PL site Nigel named National DP of the week as wellas same at LB.
Nice having 4 good TEs.September 21, 2012 at 4:50 am #6820Just posted the game preview and breakdowns today – you can get them on the front page. Should be a fun, close one in Lynchburg, I think.

September 23, 2012 at 12:55 pm #6833IMHO, so far this season our offense is like putting a match to wet leaves. At first you think it’s on fire and then it all goes up in smoke. The good news is we are 4-0. Several years ago that could have been 0-4. The rest of the season should be entertaining. There is no game on the schedule that I feel we will win easily nor is there any game we can’t win.
September 23, 2012 at 4:34 pm #6835Gutsy win. I interpret entertaining to be nervewracking. Our problem on O goes on, it stalls for whole periods and halves. This is a chronic issue this yr not a situational one. OL still an inconsistent bunch. Mike also but neither accounts for O’s repeated long disappearances. Dave must alleviate issue at least.
Otherwisr rest of the season will be same except we wont alwaus get miracle plays.September 24, 2012 at 12:45 am #6837Cecchini must find an answer to our third quarter disappearing act, as well as figuring out why Colvin isn’t getting the ball to Spadola. He was single covered numerous times last night and we didn’t look in his direction. Why? Why no quick slants to him. Colvin needs to trust his All-American receiver in such circumstances. Maybe there is still a lack of timing between the two? Lum and Spadola last year seemed to be playing ‘pitch and catch’ at times. We’re not getting rid of the ball quickly, and then after waiting, with pressure closing in, too many passes off the back foot. These things need to be cleaned up now. While Liberty was seen as the toughest game on our schedule, there are no ‘cupcakes’ coming, either. “On paper” we should go undefeated, but we know that’s not where the games are won or lost. Last night’s game was won on heart and making few mistakes than Liberty. The D was stretched to the limit and held or came up with the big play when needed. Still, some very poor open field tackling that assisted the Flames in torching us for long gains. While it’s great being 4-0, we should also realize we’re only a few plays from being 1-3 and feeling like Liberty does now. The next coming contests are all the more important. Much improvement needed if we are to replicate last year’s finish. GO LEHIGH!

September 24, 2012 at 2:26 am #6841In the 2nd half he was 3 for 9. Part of that was we rarely had the bal and when we did we couldn’t put a drive together . We cannot rely on plays like we had late in the game. Liberty had a 3-1 edge in time possession. Unfortunately, the only goodstats we had were STs and Qb. A bend dont break D is fine if offense can stay on the field and score some points. Andy was clearly not happy with team’s inability so far to plzy an entire gzme. Hell, I’d be OK with 3 periods like we played our 1st.
