Mark is now pitching for the Dodgers in the Arizona League and is off to a good stat in his 1st 2 outings of relief.

    Mark Washington continues to shine
9.2 innings pitched without giving up a run.

Is this a Rookie league or an A one? Either way one heckuva start to a pro career.

The Dodgers have two Rookie League teams, the Arizona League Dodgers which is where Mark plays and the Ogden Raptors. Between those 2 teams there are a LOT of pitchers trying to get to the next level which is low-A ball for Great Lakes Loons. The Dodgers don’t use a short season A team. The loons also have a large quantity of pitchers.
It’s a long process but Mark seems to be pretty well positioned right now.

BTW, after a nice 1 game stint with Batavia, it appears that Mike Garzillo is out of baseball again.

There appears to be about 10 games left in the Arizona Dodger season. Mark seems to be on a rotation where he pitches 3 or 4 innings every 5 days or so. It will probably get 2 more appearance this season.

Through 16.2 innings this year his ERA is 1.09 and he is averaging about 1 K per inning.

This should be good enough to give him another look. At what level, we won’t know for awhile.
