6’5 245 DE from Illinois. Had at least 10 other offers incuding most of the PL and Army. Others,Wyoming,Ball St,W.Mich,Buffalo,New Mexico,Bowling Green,Toledo. Also Harvard and Penn..
August 7, 2015 at 4:33 pm #20832Should that be commit #2 since Gage Wilson is part of the Class of 2015 or have I missed someone else?
Great pickup. Per this article, he is a ** but was ranked as the No. 79 overall DE, No. 31 overall player in Illinois.
August 7, 2015 at 4:47 pm #20833Yup. Altho,#1 doesn’t seem to have any interest in actually coming to LU. I’m guessing he will be a DE here. There are more out there, lacking confirmation tho.
August 7, 2015 at 5:20 pm #20834Rich,
Just did a little checking and Ferguson seems to have removed all postings of committing to Lehigh. I believe that Mr. Predergast may be our 1st recruit in this class and I really like it. He would be a full-sized DE.On a side not, I also noticed that Favoroso has given a verbal to play at Appalachian St next year. I wonder if he has regrets. And on we go.
August 7, 2015 at 5:29 pm #20835Feel for Chris. Some bad advice. Hope it works out for him at App.St.
Ferguson following same path w/o nearly the same athletic ability. Kid is an excellent football player. But,at 5’11 205 without a lot of speed, his options are limited. Oh,well, hope he finds what he wants.August 7, 2015 at 5:50 pm #20836Scout has Matt as a 3*
August 7, 2015 at 7:39 pm #20837NOW this is the type of commit i like to see LU get. I dont see him flipping as he had other BCS offers and MAJOR Ivy offers. Maybe only Illinois and Northwestern could flip him, or a Big Ten offer. http://sports.yahoo.com/louisville/football/recruiting/player-Matt-Prendergast-169419

August 7, 2015 at 7:44 pm #20840SSSSHHHH!! He does have some Big10 interest. Forget which one. Assuming a good senior year will surely get more offers. Hope,he’s steadfast.
August 7, 2015 at 9:53 pm #20847August 26, 2015 at 4:41 pm #21299Noticed theat Nazareth Academy will be using Matt as a offensive tackle this year. Will continue to play DE at Lehigh

Great article.Specially for us fans. Hope staff gets more recruits like Matt.August 26, 2015 at 9:13 pm #21303Such a dichotomy between us and a Big Ten* school. If truly interested in LU, then he’s not into the ‘factory’ scene, which is great. I had a good friend on my high school team that everyone thought was great…and he was; but he was also very academically focused. He went to Penn State on a full ride and spent most of his four years on the bench–somewhat because he missed practices, meetings, etc, for academic commitments due to his major. PL schools provide our players with more flexibility in being able to pursue your career goals and still play the game at a high level.
