The HC and Bucknell boards do this, and since we are starting to get some traction, I thought we should do it here as well. Let’s get some predictions on how Lehigh will finish the OOC season. As a refresher, the schedule is below:
@ Minn
Rider
@ Fordham
@ Houston
@ Pitt
@ TX Southern
@ Howard/ South Dakota St.
Sacred Heart
@ St. Francis (PA)
UMBC
LIU Brooklyn
Quinnipiac
@ BryantNovember 5, 2013 at 5:58 pm #12018I’m going to go with a 7-6 out of conference record for this team. I think Reed is going to experiment with a bunch of different lineups and I think almost everyone will get a chance in the first few weeks of the season. I’d love a scalp at Minn, Houston, or Pitt but I’m not expecting one. Fordham should be much improved. Those last 6 games in out of conference play should be a good springboard into the PL. I’m hoping for 4-2 in those last 6.
November 5, 2013 at 6:25 pm #12019I’m gonna go with 8-5. Stepping out on a limb that Minny underestimates and we pull the surprise out there. I’m with you on the 4-2 in the final 6, bum.
November 5, 2013 at 11:46 pm #12024I am going to go 5-8, really young team with 5 men in top 9 rotation who never played a college game before…it will take time to gel and figure out roles, combined with the fact that as usual we are on the road a ton.
I think we see growth by the month with this team and by league play they should be solid. I predict a top 4 league record and I think we are a team no one will want to play come March.
November 6, 2013 at 12:29 am #12025I’m pretty positive, which is a rarity for me compared to others on here.
I give us losses to the 3 biggies.
I give us 5 wins at home.
In the other 5, we could win all 5, again, but I will put us at 3-2 in the other 5 smaller games.
So, that gets me to 8-5. Anything less, I am disappointed. I am thrilled at 10-3, or a lesser record with a win at Minn, Pitt or Houston.
November 6, 2013 at 1:20 pm #12033I have read about some of the teams on the OOC schedule but not all, I will predict 4-9. I only say this because I fear an 0-6 or 1-5 start. Young team on the road all but Rider spells very difficult start. I think the young kids will come along but the season will depend on leadership. If MM can lead this team after a difficult start I believe they are a contender for a PL title. I am not nearly as optimistic as some of you for a good start. I hope I am wrong!
November 6, 2013 at 3:47 pm #12037Had to find my rose colored glasses before starting this. With those firmly in place .8-5.We could go 4-9 but my guess is team will mesh early as opposed to later in season.Offensively we will sore on everyone. D is as yet a complete unknown with so many new faces. A fun year.
November 22, 2013 at 1:58 pm #12325My fear stated above (1-5, 0-6) is becoming a reality. Heading to South Dakota to take on Texas Southern with a depleted team trying to find its identity spells trouble. Hoping boys can pull together and pull out a big win!
November 22, 2013 at 5:00 pm #12326Unfortunately, I think LIU-Brooklyn and Quinnipiac home games are now toss ups. Same probably with South Dakota St. Bryant on the road is a possible loss as well.
November 22, 2013 at 5:27 pm #12327Just heard on ESPN Radio that Quinnipiac is legit, should contend for their conference championship.
November 22, 2013 at 6:14 pm #12328I expected this team to be 1-4 at this point in the season, but if I could do it over again I would predict 2-3 less wins. Quinnipiac is always an excellent rebounding team (32nd in the country at the moment) and I think that will be trouble. UMBC is also in the top 100 in rebounding and could cause problems for us. Bryant, as mentioned above, is very solid.
The next 4 games are definitely the weaker teams we have remaining OOC, although 3 of them are road or neutral site.

Anything is possible, but that seems like a long shot. They have been playing better than the 7th place spot that the coaches predicted for them, but thus far I don’t think they look like they can challenge Manhattan or Iona.
December 31, 2013 at 3:10 pm #12824Well, 7-6 it is. We were all right in that area with our predictions for the most part. After the way the team was playing (and rebounding) through the first few games, they did a good job recovering to win 5 in a row for a winning OOC record.
