It was announced last week that former NCAA Champ at 285, Steve Mocco, will finally make his way to South Mountain in the form of Lehigh’s fourth ‘volunteer’ coach. While working for the LVAC in his continual quest for Olympic glory, his presence is viewed as a major step in getting Lehigh’s 285 All-American, Zach Rey, to the top of the NCAA podium next March. Mountain Hawks don’t really have anyone ‘in the room’ that can push Rey "to the next level", so Mocco appears to be the man charged with that mission.
With some of the anticipated adjustments to the lineup, the upcoming season should be very exciting. Hopefully some of the ‘newbies’ will be able to step into the lineup, especially at 125, 133 and 141. The ‘upper half’ of the lineup could be very good. Some young talent in the lower half that will need to grow up quickly.
