Will be there.. Section 16. With Lehigh dark brown sweatshirt. Saw much of the Bucknell Monmouth game.I do not like this matchup around the basket. Not at all. Lets hope Karnick opens up his game this 2nd time out. We will need it.

Inclined to agree with jimk72 – more than a little nervous about this one. I don’t feel like we learned much about this team in game 1. After tonight, we’ll know something, I think. Can we hope for some interior production? Can we slow down a good offensive team?

Much to focus on during tonight’s game. Key to posting a “W” in my mind will be how well we contain the Monmouth guard duo of Seaborn (6’5″Jr.) and HHammond (6’5″ Fr.). Together, they’re responsible for 33.5ppg or 50% of the team’s point output. Ross/Leufroy/Tejada/Cohen/Bennett/Wilson will have their hands full. I expect the Good Doctor to make frequent guard rotations to disrupt the duo. Our scoring and rebounding should come.

53-24. If it were Baylor maybe you could swallow that?

It’s clear watching this team games are going to come down to our foul shooting and three pointers. We have no inside game right now. Pat has not seemed to take that next step and get more of an inside game. Stands behind the line just like last year. There’s going to be nights we light up the scoreboard and other nights where nothing falls. Tim is going to be missed big time.

Monmouth was a big and athletic team all around. From guards to bigs. Don’t think we will see to much of that this year. It’s not time to panic. But I would like to see this team attack the basket more like Jordan was doing. Like Kyle did last year. Haven’t seen much of that through two games

A bit disappointed but game left me optimistic for the future.
Agree with Travis we rely too much on the perimeter. Few drives and no real inside game.

What was very apparent watching the game was that Monmouth got any shot they wanted on the floor. Many in the painted area, and shot a high percentage (over 50%). Lehigh, on the other hand, took all contested jumpers, and shot a low percentage (under 40%). It’s a recipe for disaster. And, they really struggled to stay in front of their men, when they were driving to the basket. Defense definitely lacking, which is probably why Monmouth got such easy looks. Game wasn’t as close as final score indicated.

I don’t see too many options off the dribble for Lehigh at the moment. You have Ross, who is awfully small to finish, and Leufroy, and that’s about it. Maybe one of the freshman wings shows that later in the season.

This team is going to struggle, I’m afraid.

I notice that Sedore has been a DNP in both games, although dressed. Is he healthy enough to play, or is that just a coach’s decision? Karnik needs some help. He’s undersized and young.

    Dismal attendance.

Sedore closer to PT but not yet. Lieb is still aways away. D needs coordination. Gs were good at half court pressure but all seemed lost around the basket. No rotation at all to pick up drives or midrange shots.
CB looks capable off the dribble. Vidoe on Wilson appears he is also but he is glued to the bench right now. Porter is our onlr inside banger absent Lieb who really isnt one but has the body and strength we need.

Great comments by all. We were out-classed and out-played by a well-tuned squad of players who each came to play (10 played and 10 got 10 or more minutes). As mentioned, we need an interior game and I truly believe it will come. While they combined for only 19 points, 7 boards, and 0 blocks, I view Karnich, Andree, and Porter all to be quality players. Last night they faced the trio of Seaborn, Quinn and Tilghman – 2 juniors and a senior. The season is young and I’m giving our squad time. Until then, let’s hope we never see another 8 for 29 night on 3’s, a 12 for 24 evening of FTs, and 26 of 67 FG (.388). When you think of it, it’s amazing that we lost by just 8.

Time to turn the page to Siena.
