Camasta backed by James at OC. Cohen at OT.
D
LBs. Verdon,Caslow,Ripanti,Campbell.
Keep saying D cant be this awful. Hooe we start to see better.September 23, 2014 at 4:13 pm #15724Weve been saying that for 3 weeks now. No changes at all. Will Botts be fired or demoted after this yr? How can you NOT have any changes on D at all. Pathetic.
September 23, 2014 at 5:38 pm #15726Our DL is just physically mismatched. They cannot deal with wide bodies of the opponents OL. Keep in mind the LB’s are not big for LBs, either. Hope is that quickness trumps size, but not showing that so far. I would consider going back to four man DL to spread out the gaps, maybe create more opportunities for LB’s. 3-4 needs a big stud to plug he middle and we don’t have that. If we can start getting pressure on the QB, we have very athletic LBs and DBs who make some INTs.
September 23, 2014 at 6:04 pm #15729Unconfirmed, Yosha has meniscus surgery on friday. Posted a few minutes ago on AGS. On the 2 deep tho so hope rumor stays unconfirmed.
September 23, 2014 at 10:25 pm #15730Rugg out along with Short for season, Yosha may be back in 4-5 weeks. The only way this D could dominate would be to have Bud Foster coach them.He was the master at taking an undersized D and dominating a game based upon schemes. We have speed,we have talent, but no……..you fill in the blank.
September 23, 2014 at 10:32 pm #15731So I’m guessing Yosha confirmed. Depending on extent, could be as little as 2-3 weeks. Hope Leigh not too dinged.Botts does not seem to be comfortable with 3-4.
Injury list growing rapidly.smh
Tough year.September 23, 2014 at 10:52 pm #15732In reality 5 starters lost. Douglas and Owens preseason. Sawyer is an excellent OL coach. He is gonna have to work a miracle going further down depth chart.
September 23, 2014 at 10:56 pm #15733What was our deepest unit now becomes a work in progress. I still think we are deep on the line and will be fine, give Sawyer credit…………and a raise

My bet after being scoped twice for menisci (plural??): Doubt Yosha back in 2-3 weeks if he’s getting scoped. Basic knee sprains with no surgery can take 2-4 weeks to be safe. This isn’t the NFL; no need to risk his long-term outlook — my guess is 4 weeks min. Hopefully they won’t need him; but let’s hope Leigh (#28) can stay healthy.
I am surprised at the depth they’ve had so far on the OL. Cohen, originally third team, is HUGE, and the OL has been playing very well even with all the subs.
What amazes me is the size of our third-teamers. When I was in school, they never got in … and they all were smaller (often younger, too) than the starters.
September 24, 2014 at 4:53 am #15741I’ve had 3 ,a zipper in the 60’s and 2 scopes. My son had one 3 yrs ago. His 2nd. The first took about 5 -6 weeks. The last one he was running after 2 1/2 weeks. So just being optimistic. Best I ever did was about 6-7 weeks.
Sawyer an excellent evaluater of talent and line coach. Glad we have depth but not surprised. Wish we had a guy like him on D.
Size still astounds me. Back in my day we had a 177 lb OC. In’77 neither OG was moreover than 235.September 24, 2014 at 6:09 pm #15749Caslow and Verdon not likely for game. Leigh dinged but good to go.
Holy crap,2 lbs,2 ol,1 rb from Yale game.September 24, 2014 at 7:06 pm #15750Wednesday luncheon report with Andy, Nunez Short & Rugg out for the season, Brandon & Caslow out for at least a FEW games. Expect to see Coffman & Jones, Leigh, Pelletier all fr see extensive playing time. Duffy hurting but will play. going to practice tonite might hear something new. Also, more time for Cavenas, fresh.
September 24, 2014 at 7:18 pm #15751Thanks chip. Markus has Verdon unlikely also. This season going to be an adventure.
September 27, 2014 at 3:14 am #1577838-13 bad Hawks. 3 picks, less than 200 in the air. Rushing game decent, but we don’t convert 3rd downs.
September 27, 2014 at 3:37 am #15779At the beginning of this year, I was worried I’d get Cobblerized if I predicted anything but a Lehigh win.
No more.
49-24, MU
I can always hope I’m wrong.
Let’s hope there are no more injuries.
