Is it fair to say this is a must win game. I’d even say we have to win both games this week. But the navy game is more important being a home game. We lose tomo we are looking 3 full games back. I don’t like are chances if that happens. Navy has 17 kids on roster. Key tomo night will be staying out of foul trouble. And someone must give solid mins from the bench.

Navy actually has 24 players on their roster. But they can only bring 15 to a PL road game.

THe microcosm of the season… this last minute of play. Finding a way to come up with a crappy shot and wasting all the time.

Very frustrating game. So close so many times and we could not hit a shot even once to take a lead. Thankful for LUWBB,who were in the same type of game but found ways to make that shot and get the W.

Well another game and same outcome. I literally can’t take this team anymore. Very hard to watch and it’s clear there is something going on. Once again. We get out husseled. Out rebounded. Out worked. I don’t mind losing games but when we play half assed and turn the ball over 18 times is inexcusable. Tim was the only vocal one on the court but also took him till second half to come down on his teammates and light a fire. Ross??? There’s an all points bulletin out looking for him. Where’s is this kid I watched play last year. Lazy lazy lazy. Turnovers. Bad passes. Terrible shot selection. Clearly took a step back. His demeanor also was poor tonight. Almost like a boo hoo I’m playing bad and I’m gonna mope around the whole game. Very frustrating. Kyle needs to works on making better decisions with ball. But that will come. I don’t know. I almost feel like some of these players are not happy with the coaching at times. It sure seems like it. And on to brett. Did he ever have his squad practice against a 1 3 1 zone ????? We looked totally confused and didn’t have a clue what to do. I don’t get why to. Brett put tim back in late first half for a min with two fouls and then sits him over seven mins to start second half. Luckily tim didn’t get a foul in final min of half. Reed seems not to have many answers in game situations which is very concerning to me. Another loss. We are who we are. A below 500 team and that’s it. Hats off to goldy for a great game. Get rewarded with barely seeing any second half action. Great job there brett.

Was also wondering if miles was still here. He would probably still be seeing tons of mins esp with ross Mia. Uhhhh sorry guys. Jumped around a lot had to vent. Someone explain what is going on with this team.

Getting the feeling that the difference in KR between this year and last is he no longer has Miles pushing him.

I think you are spot on Rich. How competitive could practices possibly be? There aren’t even enough healthy bodies for 5 v 5 scrimmages, much less legitimate competition for spots and playing time.

If guys aren’t (or CAN’T) play with an edge in practice it’s hard to bring it in the game.

A really disappointing season. This game and the Loyola game were absolutely painful.

Just noticed that Jordan Cohen just put up 32 points against Sierra Canyon, the #13 team in the nation. Ross may get all the competition he wants next year.

    1. Navy has played a ton of 1-3-1 this year, so I’m surprised that LU wouldn’t be ready for it.

    2. Kempton actually started the second half and played 17 minutes in that half.

Travism, feel your pain and agree. Disappointing and confusing in so many ways. We go into games and it looks like we never scouted our opponents.

Biggest concern I have is game-prep which has led – more often than not this season – to a slow, slow start. As pointed out above, how could we not be ready for what we all knew would be either Navy’s match-up or 1-3-1 zone? Unforgivable. On the offensive side, how could TK’s first point not come until the 8:22 mark of the first half? How do you explain 6 TO’s in the games first 8 minutes of the contest which resulted in 10 Navy points? Imagine what the halftime score might have been if not for the Devon Carter led 16-2 LU run when, in two short minutes, he hit a three, hit a two, and fed the ball to Kahron for a breakaway two. And, then to start slow again in the second half (no points in the first 4 minutes) while everyone in the gym knew they’d be going after Tim. Navy did and we faced still another uphill climb. What was said in the locker room at the half? Was anyone listening?

Loved Navy’s balanced scoring/rebounding attack. Just as feared. Four players hitting on 15 of 22 shots while contributing 21 boards. Navy played like they didn’t need the “3” to win. They didn’t. How sweet it must be to know that. They hit on 27 of 42 from in close. Some came on second chance points as 4 or 5 guys dressed in white headed down court.

All that and still we almost won the damn game!

A quick look at DC, JC, and JG’s PL Shooting Stats:

    DC: overall (.550)….2’s (.545)….3’s (.556)
    JC: overall (.406)….2’s (.412)….3’s (.400)
    JG: overall (.500)….2’s (.500)….3’s (na)

Great to see a number of students (100+)- back early for classes to start next week – actually showed and were supportive of the team. Too bad we let them down.

Couldn’t help but see MH sitting behind the bench dressed in #13 sweats. Dream on………

Slow starts have plagued us most every game. At near our best,we are unbeatable in PL. So far,it just shows up sporadically, usually not til we are down double digits.
DC and JG were the only bright spots. Any idea why Doc sat him in the sdcond half?

JG played about 9 minutes in the second half. However, unlike the first half, he was unproductive in the minutes he played in the second half. In those 9 minutes, he had 2 points and 0 rebounds. Chuku replaced him at the 7:45 mark and stayed in the rest of the way – presumably because they were trailing and needed a scorer. In the second half btw, the LU PF’s, JC and JG, collected zero rebounds between them in a combined 23 minutes.
