Keep your cool and don’t change a thing, Ladies. You’re doing just fine.
The 25-6 Mountain Hawks dispatched the Black Knights of Army this afternoon 61-42 in a semifinal round game of the PL Championships and will face their arch rival Lafayette (7th seed) on Wednesday for all the marbles and a trip to the NCAAs. Not that the NIT wouldn’t have been nice as PL Regular Season Champs, mind you, but the NCAAs have a nicer ring to them, don’t you agree? Bracketology, if you can believe in such things, grants Lehigh a 14th seed and sends them off to Minneapolis to face Ohio State (RPI 12) once the Big Dance gets underway. But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. One thing still stands in our way and of all people, it’s Lafayette! Stabler should be rocking on Wednesday as the two tangle in front of a national TV audience on ESPNU. The last time they met, a single game attendance record was set for woman’s basketball at Stabler (1784 fans). Here’s hoping the Valley faithful turn out in big numbers again on Wednesday.
So, how do our ladies from South Mountain win this game? Number one, don’t look ahead; leave that to bloggers like me. Number two, "if it’s not broken, don’t fix it," i.e., don’t change a thing. Your shot-making abilities and defensive skills are superior to those of your opponent’s, not to mention the strength of your bench. Figures don’t lie (see below).

March 9, 2009 at 1:20 am #175I really like Sue Troyan as a person and had always felt that she was a phenomal recruiter but had always felt that her teams underachieved. Well that may now all be in the past. I went to the 1st round game and couldn’t believe the product I saw on the floor. They passed the ball crisply, worked it inside and then took and converted their 3 when they moved the zone in. This team is deep, has a good mixture of guards who can handle the ball, shoot and play in your face defense and big girls who know how to post up and rebound. I look forward to going to the game on Wednesday. Congratulations to Sue and the girls for a fine season.
March 9, 2009 at 1:27 am #176This game will be over before its started. LU will have 10 players score 6 or more points in a 77-58 win. LC may come out fired up but the game will be over by the second media timeout.
BTW 65, whats the address of your blog?
March 9, 2009 at 11:15 am #185Wizard, there is no blog address. The term "blogger" was used in a generic sense as I contribute commentary to this and other sites on a regular basis in a effort to generate interest and support for Lehigh athletics.
I leave true blogging to Lehigh Football Nation (LFN). -
