P L and season final

Today’s game was an incredibly weak effort for a team that got steadily worse as the season wound down. Does anyone have a sense of why?

Nope. A 30 pt loss. Army a better team but we lapsed into a funk. No D at all, little cohesion. Almost as if they were determined to do the wrong thing at the wrong time all game. You would think we had never played them before. I have no idea what happened to this team. They had some nice streaks but they seem to lose focus and confiden e easily. Said it before they are talented but soft.

Unsurprisingly the only area we dominated was TOs , we had 7 more than Army 21-14. Lexi and Quince seem to have decent games.

Except Q had 7 of those turnovers. We lack a pure PG and that’s killing us. Just my opinion.
But since I’m expressing it, we are also being out-coached.

Agree. TC out most of the seado with illness. She was targeted at PG. Quince is a 2. We missed McCloskey’s toughness. We have a lot of pretty and smart girls. Good Bball players that Sie shoehprning into her system. She seems unwilling to change ta bit to fit who she can put on the court. Burton is the only true PG but rarely gets more than a few minutes. Turned off game half way thru erd just couldn’t watch anymore. I think Sue is a very good revruiter and an OK coach but she never found this team. Puzzled over the change from last year to this. I look at Bucknell , ateam that a few yrs ago was locked at the bottom of the PL. I wonder what happened to us.

It’s hard for me to judge anything about coaching on this game. I only made it about halfway through Q3, but Army appeared to be a much, much better team. Didn’t watch either of 2 prior games, but Army just looks very good. Better shooters, blocking shots on our post players, you name it. Agree that PG is a need, but I’d also suggest that Army looks to be very good.

28-2 so yeah they are very good. My point is not that we should beat them but we should be capable of giving them a game. Embarrassed 3 times. Same question why the fall off from last year?

That’s a good question, Rich. Losing to this Army team is one thing, but we dropped quite a few clunkers vs. lesser teams too.

Rich, normally agee with most of your posts but Wow! Can’t even begin to fathom what the former has to do with anything in this thread or a sports board. Chalk it up to a frustrating week?

Wasn’t being snarky. This group is very smart and pretty. Partly frustation because they are also very talented.Injuries and illness likely a factor this year. But this team could not maintain their focus or confidence. We started out very well then hit a wall and a long losing streak. Today we played with intensity for a half after that nothing. The story of the season. No PG as TMH noted a problem. Hopefully the frosh for next year can fit in quickly. Campbell and Mann seem to be our Gs. Burton came in as a very highly rated PG. As yet she hasn’t taken the spot. Devanney is a 2 G shooter. Up front Martins is a superstar. We have a lot of height in the front court to surround her. Hopefully we will find an effective rotation. I was very optimistic coming into this year. Puzzled . 18 wins is not a bad year but it should have been better.

I suspect the “pretty” part is drawing some ire, gramps.

Now you have to redeem yourself and pick which MBB player is pretty…

BTW my Beastie Boy moment was with my oldest daughter and the Drifters :).

Isn’t that why we all watch women’s sports? Best to look at :

1. Volleyball
2. Tennis
3. Track

Not so good to look at:

1. Softball
2. Basketball
3. Field Hockey
