I like this pick-up. This is a kid the staff prioritized early on having offered last year. Good frame and height, big time shooter from all scouting reports. GW had him on for an official, as for W and M, and rest of PL was chasing us for him. Credit the staff for getting this done, reports are kyle took lead on Pat, nice job by Griff.

Losing goldy and JC the frontoirt is absolute priority for this class of 16 and we got one in the books here with Andree. Good get.

Now that he made it official I’m going to do a bit more research, but my gut reaction is I think any time you pick up a guy who also scheduled official visits to the A-10 and CAA is a good get.

I like that Andree is from the Jersey Shore Warriors which has been pumping out Patriot League prospects by the truckload for a few years. Believe Andree is the first JS Warriors prospect to pick Lehigh. Also like that is a bigger body forward which could come in handy with the other young forwards (Holba and Sedore) on the lighter side.

This is no diss on Pat, but I’m waiting for a big man who thrives inside much like TK. I’ll even take a role player who knows how to board and play defense. Being tall and hanging around the 3 pt line is a bit problematic for me esp with our perceived lack of depth inside next year. Like JC, he seems to have the body. I hope he has the desire. His senior year will be telling. I’m projecting him to fit in the HG mold. That would be ideal.
    Hope that makes some sense.

Based on what I’m seeing from the staff, they seem excited about Andree. That’s a pretty good sign, to me. I like getting some local guys, too; has to be good for engaging the community. The fact that he seemed really eager to play for LU is good news to me too, especially with the recent increase in transfer activity.
I’m certainly good with having a big who can shoot from the perimeter – as long as he’s committed to hitting the glass as well. If CS2 develops into a true post-player, a forward who can stretch the D along side him is cool with me!

I spoke to a few people who have seen him play on a few occasions, not on the AAU circuit, but in high school games. His high school has a very strong tradition, and has turned out players like John Crotty (PG, Virginia, then long NBA career), Dan Werner (played at Florida when they won a national title) and Geoff Billet (was a star at Rutgers, then college assistant, now back at CBA as head coach). He plays a few games a year (state playoffs) near me against the better Catholic schools. I’ll get to see him this year for sure. I’m told he is, indeed, a very good shooter with very good range on his jumper. He is not a post up player at this point in his development. His weaknesses would be overall athleticism, quickness, jumping ability, and a game off the dribble. He is, at this point, a face up shooter with range. Decent rebounder but only due to size, not athleticism, and usually one of biggest guys on floor. Needs to develop ball handling, quickness, and moves to basket to be effective wing. Sounds like he may struggle guarding athletic wing players. Still time to develop but he’s a shooter primarily. Told he is one of the best shooters in the State of NJ.

    lehigh90,
Thanks for the review. I heard much the same thing which is the reason for my uneasiness. At 6-8, Pat may be another glorified wing and we have a bundle of those. At 6-6, MH will eventually be the one man on the team other than TK with post moves and a rebounding mentality.
I have never seen CS2 play but the fact that he is 6-11 and played level C basketball in NY and only making 6th team A/S tells me he has very few post moves.
I continue to lament the fact that we have no big man coach so CS2 will need to follow TK all around campus.
It is early however and I suspect we may still have 3 more schollies to give this year. It’s imperative that we find some guys capable of playing inside effectively IMHO.
