When you score 47 points, despite turning the ball over 3 times, you should win.
But defensively we get worse each game, not better.
Still, except for Holy Cross is anybody in the PL any good? Fordham just lost to Bryant.
In post game interview, Andy appeared to say dinged up players wouldn’t go next week at Wagner. He wants everyone healthy for league playSeptember 23, 2017 at 9:09 pm #32142Hell all PL teams got stuffed. Sure we still got a shot but a so very long as our D gets worse each week.
September 23, 2017 at 9:15 pm #32143What the )&^%! %$^&*(! Plus I’m%^&%($$()-off as well as T^&%^&*-up. This is a Total Embarrassment to the Program. I saw no fire on the sideline–except for Marino yelling at the OL. Let’s have a seance and talk this out. HC is off in his own world looking at the scoreboard with his headset on but the microphone was up most the time, so no discussion. What is going on down there. Defense is out of position most of the time, and cannot tackle from being out of position. Lots of grabbing. How many times a Penn receiver/runner at the sideline with LU players there and goes free. No one hits him! UFR!. We have not had ONE interception yet this year. Gilmore or Coach K would have been ripping “new ones”. I don’t get the sense that this “the way” any more. This is (^)^*(& TACKLE FOOTBALL!! It looks like flag football. The next two weeks are the season. We play a bad Wagner team who should get beat up this week at Western Michigan. Then we go to Colgate. Win and the PL title is there. Lose, and it’s gone and if that happens start playing for next year with clean shirts. I also question how much of our staff is ‘up to it’. Almost all with D-III pedigrees. It is a different mindset (or it’s supposed to be) at the FCS level. Tons of Questions. I can’t stand it.
September 23, 2017 at 9:24 pm #32144D players clueless still in this system. Seems entire staff in traumatic shock. Joe has to step on this cluster f*ck now. O humming but pressure of zero D will sap this team’s will tlo nothing. Has to be stemmed now .
September 23, 2017 at 11:28 pm #32145Not to sound too pessimistic, but……………. let the (very quiet) national search begin.
September 24, 2017 at 12:01 am #32146Dont know whether Joe will but he has to come down on Andy hard. Likewise Andy must take action with D staff.
September 24, 2017 at 12:36 am #32147Points allowed in first four games set a program record.
I feel bad for the offense. It has got to be exhausting playing from behind and knowing that the defense doesn’t have your back when you make a mistake. Only forced TOs have been on special teams. That shows the lack of physicality on defense.
The coaching staff especially Andy are disengaged. The defensive staff wasn’t even talking to the players during the second half.
This team is on its way to being the most underachieving one in my 40 years of bleeding brown and white.
I hope that last year’s anomaly doesn’t get this staff a free pass. There needs to be full accountability for this cluster f%ck from Coen on down. Not sure Andy has it in him to fire the defensive staff. This is what you get when you just reshuffle sh%tty defensive coaches.
What is truly scary is if the players are really this bad, we are looking at 3 more years of this olé defense before impact recruits are in the program. Need a few more beers.
September 24, 2017 at 12:38 am #32148By the way, anyone know how many minutes we have actually led this year? Monmouth only one I believe.

AnonymousOur d-line was supposed to be good. Our lb’s are just not good. Penn ran the ball three times up the middle and scored a touchdown. Lets get realistic…this team isn’t good. I said last year that there is no competition for spots on the team. If you start you will always start. It’s just not the way football is played. Baker Mayfield replaced Trevor Knight after Trevor Knight won the orange bowl. Its hard to watch!!! How bout going with 5 down lineman 1 lb and a nickel secondary. Lets send some blitzes and take some chances. It cant get any worse. How bout on offense, lets slow down and grind a lil. Eat up some clock so we only lose 28-27 instead of 65-to whatever!!!I still think the leadership of this team is heavily lacking. Im not defending the coaches but the coaches coach, they dont play!!! These kids are BAD. I agree this team could be bad for three years. Does our Qb ever get hit and not fumble? Get ready, atleast two defensive coaches get fired this week. Bot moves back into that role as d-c. I would even fire the mascot at this point. As far as opening a national search for a head coach, who would want it? Maybe Checchini!!! Other than him you would have to be a fool to come to a school where football isnt taken serious. We are a div 1 team that wishes they were a d3 team. It takes money to bolster a football team. If football went away tomorrow at Lehigh a few alumni would complain and life would go on. Sorry, but this is ugly!!!
September 24, 2017 at 1:28 am #32150How do you fix this mid-season? Who’s not playing that should be?
September 24, 2017 at 1:43 am #32151It’s hard to explain how our defense can be that bad. They were totally incapable of stopping Penn. Someone told me that on Wednesday they heard Andy say that the team seems to have lost the ability to tackle. Is it possible that he is just realizing that now? If so, he has his head in the sand. This defense has been one of the worst in all of FSC for 5 years running. Totally inexcusable that he hasn’t made major coaching changes on the defensive side of the ball. Einstein once said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. This is insanity. With regard to a potential coaching change, I totally disagree with Game On. Lots of people would want to be Lehigh’s head coach.

September 24, 2017 at 1:53 am #32152Whose not playing that should be? Nace!! Boy is a monster but a freshmen I think . Marrow has more tackles than some of the starters and sees very little playing time. Lynn is a beast who also needs to see more time- only Cavenas has more tackles than Lynn Put those four on the line together. Game on is right… there’s no competition for positions. If so, we wouldn’t be playing the players we do. Have coaches given up ( except Marino)? 0-4 and the defense has changed nothing since game one. Can’t blame the players- they want to win. Gotta put this on coaches
September 24, 2017 at 2:41 am #32153For those who left at halftime. They honored the 1957 team that won the first Lambert Cup. that team only gave up 72 points all season. We joked that this years team would be honoring ’57 by surrendering 72 points in one game.. Sort of happened (TD called back)
September 24, 2017 at 10:26 am #32155Wagner is really bad.
September 24, 2017 at 11:32 am #32156Random thoughts as my mind is reeling following the debacle…
I feel bad for the offense; imagine knowing that you MUST score a TD on every possession…
Colleges rarely make wholesale changes at midseason.
Here’s a question – What’s with the scholarships? I mean, we had better players when they were need-based. And this appears to be true across the league.
Even if we run the table, I’m not sure a PL team belongs in the playoffs.
Sad.
