      AU’s

    We await

    KenPom

    LU (3-11, 1-2) and ranked 261st
    @
    AU (2-12. 0-3) and ranked 336th
    LU wins by 2 (62-60)

If stats and KenPom’s view of same hold true, the first few things we should notice about AU should be their:

 slow pace of play – average possession length on offense = 20.8 seconds and that’s the slowest in the nation
 inability to hold onto the ball….turning it over on nearly 25% of their possessions. That’s good for 4th worst in the nation.
 weakness on the boards…….17 defensive / game or 9th worst in PL and just under 8/game on the offensive glass.
 one-off play with just 10 assists/game – lowest in PL play to date. Their top assist man for the year is Sr. Jeese Reed with 1.9/game
 trouble cashing-in from beyond the arc (16 for 49 = .327) in early PL play
 12 suit-up and 12 play with starters averaging 28 mpg with subs seeing 12+mpg
 sparse attendance (489 for their PL opener vs. Colgate). We should feel right at home – ha!

      Must Win Definition: This Game

The Eagles are 0-3 in PL play losing to Loyola, Colgate and Bucknell by 8, 19, and 18 respectively. Not only should we win but do so in convincing fashion. After laying an egg on Wednesday up in Baltimore, TK, KR and others would seem to have something to prove to themselves and the team. I would expect us to run and run some more and not get caught up in their slowdown tactics. Hopefully a double-digit win is in the offing.

Nice wire to wire win over a young AU team. Austin and Kyle playing well and with confidence. Love to the contributions on the boards from the backcourt yesterday. Could make a big difference moving forward. Kyle should have had 20 again yesterday but missed a couple gimmes he will hopefully make moving forward. Whatever reports we heard about him not being ready to contribute were luckily unfounded.

Tim seems out of it the last couple of games. He seemed very surprised by some of the foul call yesterday, and while some were dubious, others were legit. Need to get him back on track.

Too bad about letting that Loyola game slip away, 3-1 right now would be pretty sweet.

A road win is always good. Granted, we needed to expect to win this one – but I’ll take it.
Mixed bag, overall. Very little TK impact, but won anyway – that’s a big plus. But we also shot poorly from 3 again, on very limited tries in the 2nd half.
Can we give away free beer to get students to come to Bucky on Monday? ;-)
Can’t be optimistic, but I’m hopeful for a good, competitive showing at home. Bucky is, without a doubt, the class of PL so far this year, imo.

TK started PL play on fire. Now, going the other way. Thankfully, KL is a real player. Should have nice career.
