Just my opinion FWIW.
All the schollie squads are getting athletes that none of us would’ve gotten 2 yrs ago. Who is doing the best?
Probably Gate with 6 ** kids ,Pards close behind. FU much smaller class as they were already at cap last yr but some outstanding quality. We fit in about here so far. Bucknell and Holy Cross too close to call but not far behind.
Gate and Pards are both close to max recruits being in the low to mid 20s. We only know 15 at this point.February 4, 2014 at 12:52 am #13478Are we getting better quality than previous years? What reasons do you see for us being behind gate and Lafayette this year? How do we usually stack up against our PL brethren? Do you think we can still land some impact recruits this late in the process?

Not saying our class is bad. It’s quite good. Analysis I used was other offers and stars. Not all kids have either does not mean they ardn’t excellent. Gate, FU and Pards all have more recruits with stars or FBS,top FCS offers. They also have more known recruits. It may well be classes will even out when we’re done.February 4, 2014 at 1:32 am #13481Well Cross will move up. McBeath committed a few minutes ago. He is a stud.
February 4, 2014 at 1:55 am #13482Your suggestion begs the question — how do I become a member?
February 4, 2014 at 2:07 am #13483Lol.. If ] knew how I am a member I would tell you. Sent LFN email asking to explain how to fix avatars.
February 4, 2014 at 2:30 am #13484Thanks. Are we done with recruiting weekends for the year?
February 4, 2014 at 2:44 am #13485Probably not. It depends on how many schollies we have left.
Every yr after NSD, Andy brings kids in .Last yr we signed 2 more.
No more big weekends tho.February 4, 2014 at 3:44 am #13486Recruiting rankings are mostly meaningless. With the thousands of kids out there, there is no way anyone can objectively rank them. Some are more proficient at working the sports social media. Certainly, some kids are going to be ‘standouts’ but at our level, we’re talking about those that are either a bit smaller or slower than the FBS choice. Plus for the PL schools, academics matter more so than the other conferences, and some where they matter not. There is also the great unkown as to what occurs to an 18 year old kid over the ensuing 4 years. It’s a real crap shoot every year.
February 4, 2014 at 4:01 am #13488Very true n, still have fond memories of the GRAZ, sort, small slow, the penultimate WO.He had the talent however to tackle and be in the right spot at the right time.
Rating recruit classes only measures their pat and what othrer coahes thought of him. No one can oredict with absolute accuracy who will succed. Heck, just look at all the ** QBs that we’ve had that never saw the field and some that did and wern’t very good.February 5, 2014 at 6:14 pm #13541Pards NSD show just ended 26 recruits with 1 more QB to sign. Very nice presentation and an excellent recruit class
February 5, 2014 at 6:28 pm #13542How are they able to bring in 26 recruits? What sort of quality are they getting, top to bottom?
February 5, 2014 at 6:51 pm #13543LC had 17 to use. Between partials and some need aid not hard to get to 26 still need to not exceed roster cap of 92. We have room for 23 absent some leaving team. Very good group. Best LC has gotten in yrs.
Cross,Gate and Pards all with good groups .
We have some truly superb gets but not the breadth or depth of their classe. The staff turnover, still short 2 coaches, clearly hampered our efforts this year.
Still hoping for a few surprises.February 5, 2014 at 9:26 pm #13547Cross list up on its site. Tom picked up some speed and a bevy of huge DLinemen. Daunting
