Pafan, should one assume your glowing kr reports are directly obtained via CR?
October 13, 2014 at 9:25 pm #16016Agree with Rich – thanks for bright outlook, Hoops! Needed it! I feel the same way, but get nervous when I see the previews, and wonder if I’m just being a homer…
October 13, 2014 at 9:43 pm #16017Us homers, naaah, clear that LU will be in the hunt all the way to March. Yup,that’s the story. Hoops,I will give you your glasses back in the end of Nov.
October 13, 2014 at 10:51 pm #16019Front court minutes won’t be to difficult to manage at the 4 and 5 spots. You have TK JC JG as your top three and a fired up cb as your fourth guy 80 minutes to split up there. Shouldn’t be to hard to get that right. TK 30-32, JC 25-28, JG 16-18, CB the rest. Cb big because our top three can get in foul trouble and he needs to do what he did last year which was hit the glass hard.
Backcourt minutes is where it will be really interesting because of all the talent. 120 minutes per game and you figure CS is going to get 28-30 as will ap. If kr is what we think he is he is going to get his mins as well. How the ms kr ba tj minutes get allocated will be interesting.
I love ms game and upside and wonder how staff uses him, he is sort of a combo guy who can play 1 but he hasn’t looked so fluid and smooth at 1. He is freak athlete and can jump through the moon and his jumper is solid. Really wish he got more mins last year but hopefully he cracks regular rotation and plays big role.
Would love to play more uptempo and play 10 kids a game cause I know we got the athletes to do it.
October 13, 2014 at 10:53 pm #16020I need to see JRG by the way, how he fits is going to be interesting. I don’t know his role yet or how he fits. Same with km who I don’t see playing really, but who knows.
October 13, 2014 at 11:17 pm #16022I was to about seven games last year including very early at Fordham. I share the feelings regarding Price. He seemed timid on going to the basket for much of the year, almost as if he was deferring to others. But two or three times I saw flashes on strong moves to the hoop. The most impressive was that move he was bloodied on near the end of the last game at Lafayette. If he returns more aggressive and KR is the real court general, we may surprise.
Digressing, has anyone heard details on the ticket situation for Villanova? It’s listed on the PPL Center event website as a Villanova home game and details “tbd”.
October 13, 2014 at 11:27 pm #16023Gas Doc ever gone to more than an 8 rotation.Injuries aside. Spent some time looking at clips from last yr and some frosh clips. Too much talent IMO to go pattern O all the time. All of ghe bigs can run the floor. He did it some before with a 4 G set. KR,BA,AP ,CS or MS and JG or CB.
So hopeful he will open the floor more.October 14, 2014 at 7:20 am #16026I found this article. It appears he played in a rugged league. He is from LaCanada, DIV 3. Div 3 vs Div 1 may be based on school size and not level of competition. Player of the Year, nice.
October 14, 2014 at 12:17 pm #16028LUHoops,
Just my humble opinion based on watching video and talking with a few people and 20plus years of coaching (football not basketball).
October 14, 2014 at 12:50 pm #16029Thanks norcal. Great article. Looks like decent competion.
October 14, 2014 at 11:56 pm #16035Thanks pafan, I have watched the same videos and am obviously encouraged. Don’t need the exact names but are you comfortable saying whether people you are talking to about kr are associate with team in any shape or capacity??
October 15, 2014 at 3:24 am #16047jimk,
PPL apparently has not released any tickets for the Lehigh-Villanova game. It is my understanding that the Lehigh allotment will be very small (about 700-750 tickets.) It is included in the season ticket package, so they will get the first allotment.
I highly suspect that Villanova will not use up their allotment by any stretch so keep an eye out on the website.
This will be a coming home party for Hilliard, so expect the Bethlehem residents to be involved too. I believe the price is about $30 but don’t quote me on that.October 15, 2014 at 9:25 am #16050Thank you TMH. With 8,000 seats and being in Allentown for a Villanova home game I can’t imagine this will be anywhere near a sellout. And reading into what you are saying it sounds as though the arena controls the tickets, so I’ll keep an eye on their website. Thanks again.
October 15, 2014 at 2:09 pm #16054Further to the last two posts, season ticket holders WILL be given priority when it comes to allocating seats to the Villanova game. Guys, the ‘Price is Right’. You get tickets to every Men’s and Women’s home game (24 in all……3 OOC games + 9 PL games for each) plus a good seat to the Villanova game for the ridiculous low price of $129. That’s $5.16/game. Don’t plan to attend them all? Make them available to friends and neighbors, veteran organizations, scouting programs, or simply consider a donation to the future of LU Basketball. C’MON MAN!
October 15, 2014 at 2:15 pm #16055LU65,
Thanks. I had always wondered if there was an advantage to getting a season ticket for basketball. I’m already a ticket holder for football and wrestling. Money isn’t an issue, time constraints are :-). I will still manage to get to 10-12 games anyhow though. -
