FB and Nick T. will be Brags back ups per luncheon. Micco likely out about 4 weeks..takes through the bye week. Whether there would be any thought of a RS would depend on whether fully healed and what our record is. “Assume” we are 5-1 going into Fordham…I think we’d want Brisker in there with Brags if it appeared we had a real shot at taking down the Rams. Just optimistic thoughts…
September 24, 2015 at 4:03 am #22029What the hell, why not. 5-1 sounds good to me. Heck,I’d be ecstatic at 4-2.
September 24, 2015 at 4:09 am #22030Working on the game preview now, but my take on it is this (reprinted from AGS):
Lehigh and Lafayette can rightfully say that the other would have the same record with the same opponents. (Laf over CCSU and Penn, losing to JMU? Very possible. Lehigh losing to Bill&Mary, Delaware, Princeton? Very possible.) With Wagner acting as a proxy for CCSU (i.e. a middle-of-the-road NEC team) and Lehigh playing Princeton, it will be easier for Lehigh and Lafayette, at least, to compare and see how close they might be.
In that sense both games are big. If Lafayette loses big to Wagner, panic at the disco, compounded if Lehigh beats Princeton. If Lafayette beats Wagner and Princeton blows out Lehigh by two scores or more, Lehigh/Lafayette could be seen as pretty much at the same level.
September 24, 2015 at 12:03 pm #22031I wouldnt panic so much about Brisker, I REALLY like Nick T, hope he gets a shot. MB and DB run about the same to me with power. Nick T is a change of pace back, fast as well but has the moves the other two dont. I think Nick T would break a long one before the other two. If he get a shot he is going to surprise alot of you. watched him practice and thought personally he shouldve been in the rotation for sure. Did see Nana practice but to me hes just like DB and MB….power. I think we need that scat back type that makes people miss to compliment the power.

September 24, 2015 at 12:08 pm #22033Watched the LC/PU game. Like any other QB if you give them time they will pick you apart. LC looked AWFUL, had 3 freshman and a soph in the secondary and they were lost. LC tackling was WORSE than LU if you can believe it. I am worried about our CBs though, they will be tested, the weakest link on our D. #1 will be picked on all day, this could be the game he loses his job, #26 as well. They should be on thin ice IMO. If Caslow and the LBs make tackles, we should be in good shape, need pressure on the QB, glad TC is back, thats huge.
September 24, 2015 at 5:38 pm #22040No doubt we will score points. Question is can we stop a PU offense that is coming off an almost 600 yard opening weekend. Our defense giving up average 30 points per game. That average could be enough. Have to control the ball and keep their offense off the field, so running game will be key. We know the twin Bs are dinged up. Cant just run Schaf. Someone has to step up. We’ll take 3-4 yds per carry and pass only as needed. Easier said…
September 24, 2015 at 7:14 pm #22042I think LehighGuy has it right. Pass defense MUST be tight and effective. This is critical on Third Down. Too many times we have seen opponents find the necessary 6-12 yards to keep their drives going.
If Lehigh can stop Princeton’s short pass game, Lehigh will win. Unfortunately, I don’t expect this to happen. A 10-14 point loss. To further disappoint, a few curious penalties, too!
September 24, 2015 at 7:22 pm #22043Game preview with a lot of historical information, tailgate info, and other foolishness you’ll want to read.

September 24, 2015 at 8:35 pm #22046Just because the FB isn’t 5’8″ 180 lbs doesn’t mean he cant play at RB? I don’t understand you guys?
I’ve always been a big fan of using the FB & TE.
Kudos to the Volmar last week, very nice balance of pass & run keeping the D on their toes. This week we may need an AirLehigh O, their D line looks very good.
September 24, 2015 at 8:41 pm #22047Anyone attending the Lehigh sponsored tailgate at Princeton?
September 24, 2015 at 9:11 pm #22048Agree Buddy. Crawford is a very good receiver and RB. Dont think Tigers D will stop us from scoring. Can our D put up more fight than Pards?Litlle doubt that we will.
Tigers stuck mostly with runs and short passes. Expect Surace will open the playbook with 2-3 QBs on the field. For us ,we must cntrol the LOS. Do that and we can get a W.September 24, 2015 at 10:19 pm #22049hope Cavenas is 100%, he can be a real difference maker
September 25, 2015 at 12:18 am #22051If I have to key on one player for Princeton, that would be Steve’s son who gashed us 2 years ago. Forget the 3 Qb system, focus on Atwater. If we can out rush the Tigers we can win.
September 25, 2015 at 12:22 am #22052Good point. TC should help get control of the LOS.
September 25, 2015 at 1:15 am #22054Penn is currently beating Villanova 17-7 in the 3rd Q. We shall see if that holds up. To be fair, Villanova is without their Payton winning QB….
The OC will have a tough task on Saturday. I agree that Lehigh needs to control time of possession to protect the defense. The OL needs to bring it. How that is done will be interesting. If Bragalone is healthy he could be dangerous as a receiver. Pelletier broke out last week. Another 100 yard game could be the cards….
Princeton has a lot of talented players but they’re not in the same league as JMU…..
