But Napoli’s smart and he’ll use that setback to become a better wrestler at the next level when he competes for a starting spot on the Lehigh University team next fall.
Napoli, who plans to major in engineering in college, said he picked Lehigh over Hofstra, Cornell, Penn and Old Dominion.
The 92-percent grade point average Napoli carries at Cumberland Valley speaks for itself but wrestling on the collegiate level offers challenges that go beyond the mat.
“If you work hard in the wrestling room and the classroom, you’ll be successful,” CV coach Dave Heckard said. “If you put your mind to anything you want to do you’ll do well. It’s the same thing in the classroom as in the wrestling room. You have to manage your time and do the right things off the mat because that can have just as big of a factor to your success on the mat.”
