So wipe out the “CBI detract from recruiting thoughts”, as per Twitter last night Miles is boarding a flight to Phily today to head to Lehigh this weekend! ABC ALWAYS BE CLOSING, let’s get this done.
March 21, 2013 at 1:35 pm #9902This kid has some great skill and athletic ability but awfully small. 5’10 140. Reminds me of the Carr kid from Baltimore but not nearly has gifted athletically. I watched the Carr kid get completely shut down twice in games by teams that played solid disciplined defense with size. My main concern is can this kid be productive against solid defensive schemes at the college level. What does everyone else think?
March 21, 2013 at 3:54 pm #9904I don’t know much about him, but at that size, he better be your change of pace, ultra-quick backup PG to push tempo. If he fits that bill, I think he would be a good addition, as CS is not going to give you that. And, I think next year, CS sees a lot of time off the ball.
March 21, 2013 at 5:44 pm #9906This is awesome news. Let’s get a commitment this weekend!
March 21, 2013 at 7:22 pm #9907On a somewhat related note, I believe I now understand the scholarship situation. Unlike most if not all major conferences, Lehigh and probably the rest of the Patriot League treat their scolar athletes with the respect they deserve. When we make a commitment, it is for four years and not one. I was told that Dr. Reed is still honoring the scholarship commitment for a player who’s career is over. I assume we know who that is but he wasn’t mentioned by name. That would mean we have the full complement of 13 scholarships to work with (although 1 will still be taken up next year).
If true, which I’m fairly sure it is, this would open up a 3rd scholarship for the class of 2014.March 21, 2013 at 7:32 pm #9909KM still on the books as far as Lehigh concerned, but he is not a counter as far as NCAA is concerned, is he?
March 21, 2013 at 8:48 pm #9911Can’t be certain, but I’m assuming that he is. It is still counted as a basketball scholarship. I seem to remember Joe Paterno doing something like this with A QB recruit from DaMatha who was paralyzed in surfing accident at the beach and honored the scholarship, reducing the # he had available.
March 21, 2013 at 10:47 pm #99141. I thought I read he was a solid 6’0
2. He is heading to us tonight and tomorrow an Loyola this weekend
March 21, 2013 at 10:50 pm #9915It looks like Miles will be at Lehigh tonight and tomorrow….then off to Loyola for the weekend.
March 22, 2013 at 12:32 am #9916LUHoops00..you type faster than I do
Just a thought but how cool would it be for a recruit to watch the Duke’s 1st round game tomorrow afternoon with CJ and the Lehigh basketball team as the announcers replay last year’s ending and chat up CJ and Lehigh’s epic win.March 22, 2013 at 11:04 pm #9922If a player’s career is ended for medical reasons, he is NOT a counter per NCAA rules.
March 24, 2013 at 12:57 am #9928Potential good news, just saw tweet from Simelton 10 minutes ago and he told a friend that he is in PA aka Lehigh! The reported plan was for him to see us yesterday and Loyola this weekend. He landed in PA Thursday night and looked like he was around all day/night yesterday, but I had figured he would head down to Loyola this afternoon. Now I know Loyola has a CBI or whatever tourney their in, game tomorrow at home I think, but figured he would head down there for a Saturday night. Did we perhaps close MS? God I hope so!!!!
March 24, 2013 at 1:23 am #9931Here is an article that will tell you much of what you want to know about the young man except what college he will be attending. He appears to be a great fit.

Hope we hear more in a day or two.
March 24, 2013 at 12:53 pm #9935I’m not so sure LUHoops00. MS has an offer from Loyola….of Chicago.
Depending on his impression of Lehigh, this visit to Loyola may result in his informing Loyola one way or another. Just a guess on my part though.
