Softball has swept doubleheaders from St. Joseph’s and Princeton so far this fall. The battery of Sorem/Wright has 2 complete-game shutouts and the defense has has only allowed 2 runs in 4 games. Offense has been strong so far as well.

Softball wraps up the fall practice game season with doubleheaders vs. Rutgers on October 18th and Monmouth on October 24th.

Any idea what the scores were?
I realize these are exhibition games to size up the players for the next season so there is no actual reporting.
Among the big questions is whether the stellar pitching will hold up with Baucher’s departure. Sorem and Campbell might be a very strong starting combo.
Based on the returning team and the newcomers, the outlook is terrific.

    St. Joes scores
    Lehigh 1-0 (Sorem)
Lehigh 5-0 (No-hitter Campbell and Lattanzio)

    Princeton scores
    Lehigh 7-2 (Same combo)
    Lehigh 4-0 (Sorem)

Campbell was the 2nd best pitcher in the PL last year and will likely be our #1 starter this year. Sorem has the ability to be one of our best ever. Her WHIP is >1 so far, so she has been pitching out of trouble. Barring injuries, our pitching staff should be be dominant in the PL for many years to come.
