Jets – “We have moved RB Mike Goodson to the active roster and have signed WR Michael Campbell from the practice squad to the active roster today.

To make room on the 53-man roster, we have released LB Ricky Sapp and WR Ryan Spadola.

At WR, we made an exchange, bringing Campbell up from the practice squad for Spadola, the free agent rookie from Lehigh who had some big moments in training camp and the preseason. However, in three regular-season games, Spadola was in for only 45 plays, 24 on offense, and had only one pass targeted for him with no receptions.

And you wonder why the Jets have stunk up the league for so long … and the Patriots perennially win with a bunch of no names. Spadola needs to go to New England.

It would be good to know the reason since he was given little chance to play.
Perhaps he did not shine in practice?
Hopefully, he gets picked up.

The Jets recently picked up Nelson in free agency and Stephen Hill is active for tomorrow night, giving them 5 WR. Campbell brought off practice squad because he is a better special teams player than Ryan. Spadola will now go through the waiver wire. If no other team picks him up, the Jets want to bring him back on the practice squad.
To me, part of the problem is that Geno Smith never gets to his 3rd read or doesn’t like Spadola because he rarely threw to him even in pre-season. Ryan’s production came when Garcia and especially Simms was behind center.

No sign of Spadola on Dolphins roster yet …

I think the only issue is that the Dolphins are slow to update their roster. They lost WR McNutt, who was on their practice squad, to Carolina early in the week. Hence the addition of Spadola. But they still show McNutt on their PS roster, even though he has been gone for awhile.

It appears Bison137 was absolutely correct. Spadola now listed on practice squad roster.
