"Interesting football," to borrow a phrase from lfnadmin, to say the least! Perhaps, it ranks as the toughest test any PL team will face in terms of out of conference foes – that is with the possible exception of Fordham who will take on UConn (picked to finish 7th in the BCS Big East) in its season-opener and later go up Columbia (7th Ivy), Rhode Island (10th Colonial), Penn (1st Ivy), and close out their OOC schedule against Army (BCS Independent). Hey, good for them and their scholarship players. They won’t have the right to represent PL come tournament time, anyway.
A closer look at our out of conference schedule shows:
Opponent / Home or Away / AGS Preseason Poll / Sporting News Poll / Predicted (Sporting News) League Finish
Monmouth / Away / – / – / 7th NEC
UNH / Home / 10th / 11th / 3rd Colonial
Princeton / Away / – / – / 6th Ivy
Liberty / Home / 19th / 20th / 1st Big South
Yale / Home / – / – / 3rd Ivy
You couldn’t have drawn it up any better with the presumed toughest games at home and the weakest ones the road. Except for facing Colgate up in Hamilton, the same can be said about our PL calendar of games with Holy Cross, Georgetown and Lafayette scheduled to close-out the year on consecutive Saturdays at Goodman.
