Nice video report under spring practice header. No real news mostly puff but Andy happy with off season work outs stronger and faster. Nice to watch guys running around in pads. Hopefully future reports will be more informative

On LU site, Andy notes Dook at NG and Mihal as impressing. On O he refersto Fitz and Spadola. Qb between Lum and Clark. Colvin delayed with last yrs injury

Despite better performance by Clark down the stretch, I still think Lum would be better under center.

Agreed ,he has better arm, he is a better athlete BUT as he showed last yr very raw very inconsistent. tried to use his cannon to beat double coverage too often. Indecisive. All a matter of experience. Absent injury to JB notlikely to get much more than a few snaps. Ceech may be a very large factor here. I think he will be able to make all the qb s better. S/b fun. Lets see how they do in the upcoming scrimmages.

In the video, was that a no. 5 wearing the telltale red of the quarterback position? That could be an interesting development if so… maybe a guy that can run Wildcat plays in the absence of Colvin (if he’s still hurt)? Not sure who it is – it’s not No. 5 John Littlejohn, who’s still a defensive back.

Could be Littlejohn as he was a qb in HS which basically ran the spread option O. Andy probably using him to give rest some practice on system until Mike comes back for pre season practice.

I would not expect Colvin to suit up until August. He had a nasty break. One of the many things good about Cecchini coming in is that there will be a fresh and new view of our QBs without the predisposition Brown may have had. Everyone’s working from a clean slate (although last year’s film I’m sure has caused some indigestion). Lum appears to be the better athlete, but the results were not good. Reminds me of Favre believing his golden arm will get the ball anywhere despite the coverage, forcing the issue too often. The competition at the Brown & White Game should be good.

Based on what :?: Lum had his opportunity to take the job in ’09 and was awful. As in ’09, it should be Clark’s job to lose. Let’s hope he builds on the Lafayette win this year. I really think that Cecchini is going to have a positive impact on all the QBs.
