Finally, the pre-season comes
to an end with a bus ride half-way to Cleveland to take on the Loretto, PA- based Red Flash of SFP. Whether we finish 5-5 in D-1 play or 4-6 is of little concern to me but hopefully of great concern to the Reed and Co. as they look to post what would be their third ROAD WIN of the year. Get used to the journey, Guys, the PL scheduling makers have you playing away from home in four of your first five contests beginning on December 29th.
Unlike many other bouts with the Red Flash in the past, this one may be a bit of a challenge facing an opponent with 4 in double-figures and a 5th guy, a 6’10” forward by the name of Deivydas Kuzavas, less than a point removed and touting .613 FG%. As a team, the Red Flash put up nearly 84 points per game and connects on 39+% of their threes. And, don’t think for one minute they’ll be in augh of us, having weathered the likes of Saint Mary’s, San Francisco, Louisville, Stony Brook and Duke. All in all, a stern test of our D awaits. A win would be nice.
