Leaks has the ability to be a ball hawk, just has to learn when he can gamble and when not.Realistically if front 6 can control LOS,Ss wont have to cheat up for run and can provide the security behind CBs to allow them to gamble when appropriate. As Andy said we need to force more TOs and sacks.

Is Coen opposed to FBS transfers? While Fordham might be relying on them a bit too much I don’t see any reason Lehigh doesn’t try to get one or two a year in order to fill in some gaps. There’s plenty of very good football players who leave they’re original school in excellent academic standing.

Yosha is obviously one but given his injury situation there wasn’t a lot of tread left on the tires.

Unlikely that Andy opposed. Transfers to LU very rare. Over my time, perhaps 1 or2 a decade.Maybe 9 or 10total. Only recall 2 having significant postive impact McGowan from Richmond and the DB from Snow JC whi’s name escapes me. The other 2. RBs both had serious knee injuries, great promise not much overall impact.
There was a rumor recently of a WR transfer that has not born out.

Schwenk from Rutgers was probably the most highly touted. He was solid but far from spectacular. In truth, he was probably better than some remember.

Pastore came from Kent State but never really materialized. I think injuries hampered him.

McGowan was a FCS guy. He was pretty good but not transcending…

Theo Moss – He was a JUCO player from Nassau CC iirc. He was awesome until he ended up in jail….

This would have been a good year to get a QB and/or DL/LB.

Forgot Theo. He was very good. He was still in Bethlehem after he got out for quite a while. Chad wasn’t terrible but he never could make his reads. My memory of Chad is late throws over the middle resulting in an INT.Pastore had multiple injuries back shoulder, knee and chronic hamstring. Really nice kid with no luck.

His final year was 1995. Twenty years ago….wow, I’m getting old.

It’s hard to forget about him though. His final throw will be remembered as the greatest TD pass in LU history….

Where did he come from? I just remember Aylesworth being the heir to Semptimphelter’s throne…

Holy crap, completely forgot him. Have no recollection from where tho. While not a Semptimphelter he was better than Chad.

That sounds right. Perhaps one of my classmates might remember. Altho at our age long term memory,30+yrs is pretty good. The rest is hit or miss :-)

doing more research on these incoming freshman, future look pretty good for Lehigh football, some of these kids could be 4 year contributors, if that’s the case 2 more classes like this and we should have some serious depth and next man up concept could be into play!!!
