Lehigh is undefeated in the PL. Fordham, Colgate and Bucknell all have one loss. Bucknell still has to play Lehigh and Fordham. Colgate and Fordham also have a future date. Lehigh is absolutely in the driver’s seat but there is still a little football left to play.
With that being said, Lehigh could crack the Top 20 this week. They come in at #24 in the Coach’s poll.
#10 S. Dakota St lost
#16 Montana lost but to #3 Eastern Washington
#19 Samford lost but to Mississippi St.
#20 Stony Brook lost big to New Hampshire which could leapfrog us
#22 Eastern Illinois lostOctober 30, 2016 at 3:02 pm #29078There has been a lot of talk about Air Lehigh on this board and it’s justified however I thought this is worth noting about Dom Bragalone.
1.)Dom needs 88 yds to pass Eric Rath into 10th place in the CAREER rushing list….he is still a sophomore. Assuming we are in the playoffs and Dom can avg 100 ypg, he will also pass both Diorio and Rizzo this year.
2.Dom needs 90 yds to reach 1,000 yds for the 2nd consecutive year. 99 yards will surpass last year’s total. 234 more yards this season and it will become the 5th best rushing season ever at Lehigh.
3.)With 3 games remaining, Dom is tied for 9th for rushing TDs in a season with 12. Add in Shaf’s 8 rushing TDs and this may be most prolific and balanced offense in our history.
October 30, 2016 at 5:32 pm #29080Hell of a stat year on O. 2 QBs with ovet a 1000 yds and 2 WRs not to forget Brags over also.
October 30, 2016 at 7:01 pm #29081… and Dom is #8 in the FCS in rushing, albeit the 7 ahead have played less games
October 30, 2016 at 11:57 pm #29085Don’t know if that’s a good stat or not that Dom is ranked that high in 2yrs. He doesn’t even have 2000 yds rushing. Says more about LU rushing game in its history. O is playing great tho. Bucknell has alot to play for, hope our guys don’t sleep on this game thinking they are already in the promise land
October 31, 2016 at 12:36 am #29086lotta senior leadership on this squad, would be really surprised if they did not show up Saturday, could be last game in goodman for the seniors
October 31, 2016 at 1:46 am #29087Although TP and GC are no longer #1 and #2 in the nation in receiving yards, Lehigh still leads the nation in passing % at 70.2%. They also lead the nation in fewest fumbles lost this season. The # is truly impressive but I’m a bit superstitious

October 31, 2016 at 3:55 pm #29089LOL…I’ve been trying to step up my game lately
October 31, 2016 at 5:35 pm #29090Just a little something to keep track of.
Gatlin Casey has 12 TD receptions this year, good enough for a tie for 6th place in the record books. Hopefully there will be a minimum of 3 games remaining and the Lehigh record is 15.October 31, 2016 at 6:53 pm #29091Lehigh moves into the Top 25 (finally) in the STATS poll
October 31, 2016 at 7:54 pm #29092We didn’t quite make the Top 20 in the Coach’s poll coming in at #21

Not trying to look too far ahead but if Lehigh moves up about another 5 places over the next 3 weeks, we may get a game where we are the higher seed. Is a guaranteed gate still the determining factor on who hosts the game? I seem to remember that being the case against Towson in 2011. We have a new President now who wants to make Lehigh a national name and seems to understand the role of athletics in that regard. Just wondering.

For a very long time Lehigh never played freshmen, and also for a good hunk of the late 20th century played a 9 and 10 game season, which puts some of those rushing marks in perspective. Furthermore, Jack Rizzo got that number as a fullback!
October 31, 2016 at 8:15 pm #29094Back then we ran a versipn of the Delaware Wing T. Tubby Raymond”s O. Not much differane between HB and FB. He and Diorio were close to the same size.
