The men and women are each at the top of their game and at the top of their respective leagues. The summit was reached last night when the women fought back from an early deficit to top American at Stabler by 7 and now hold a share of first place with the Eagles of American. The men took control of their destiny hours earlier with their convincing 12 point win over American down in D.C. to claim first place all to themselves. How sweet are these stats?
Women
20-3 (7-1)
Men
15-8 (6-2)
Combined
35-11 (13-3)
While Stable – that concrete palace 2.5 miles from the heart of the campus – continues to be the butt of jokes from around the league, it’s home sweet home to the Brown and White faithful and to the players. Why not? The women are riding a 30 game Stabler winning streak and the men are feeling right at home, thank you, at 9-1 in the present campaign. Their combined ’09-’10 numbers at S.T.A.R. are 22-1. If not the nation’s best, then a close second. Someone else may wish to look it up.
Bring on the next victim!
