Another day at the office, another shut out.

In case you have lost sight of their play, our prideful D hasn’t been scored upon since the third quarter of the Harvard game. That’s 162 opponent plays ago! Saturday they held Yale to 103 yards on the ground and 86 thru the air, recorded 2 sacks, picked-off 3 passes, gang tackled and swarmed to the ball, just as coached – all this while being on the field for a whopping 37 minutes of playing time! That, thanks to the misguided and pass-happy offense that completed just 8 of 28 pass attempts into, around and thru a 20 mph wind, went 0 for 13 in third down conversion attempts, punted the ball away a mind-boggling 11 times, and lost 3 of its 4 fumbles. If nothing else, this Lehigh "D" is worth the price of admission. Perhaps the offense should stand along the sidelines and forego the bench for awhile (they couldn’t be that tired) and watch the way the game is played.

The FCS National Stats are now out for games played thru October 17th. Check out our men on Defense:

    # 1 in Red-Zone Defense (18 drives and 9 scores for a .50pct)
    # 2 in Pass Defense (120 yards/game)
    # 2 in Tackles for Loss (8.83/game)
    # 5 in Sacks (3.67/game)
