What’s the ticket situation for the Villanova game? Any chance of a sellout? It is the only opportunity this year for a day/night doubleheader in Bethlehem and Easton. My companions prefer to wait and check the weather. I prefer not to be shut out.

Can’t remember the last time there was a sell out for any game other than Laughy It. Nova should draw very well, but a sell out seems unlikely. However, you could end up on the visitor side out side the 30 yard lines. Don’t know about you, but I am too old for bleachers and would recommend getting a chair back on the home side of the field.

Thanks. Non-chairback is not a problem since I purchased my own portable chairback years ago to get thru the Saturdays on those wooden slats at decrepit old Fisher Field. Besides, even though I want the ChickenSquawks to go 10-1 every year, spending 3+ hours in and amongst them may be more than my delicate Leopard sensitivities can take. I shall gladly assume my usual position on the visitors side and content myself with enraging ‘nova supporters over their visions of grandeur potential move to FBS. If you see the cops headed that way it will be because I took issue with one or two of them when they began belittling the home team in particular and the Patriot League in general. Only Pards are allowed to pick on Squawks.

No way of knowing, of course, the size of the crowd coming to Murray Goodman that day, but I could see it being a pretty huge attendance. But as long as you’re content with sitting on the Nova side, I think you’ll be OK on tickets. I think the Lehigh side might be packed to the gills, though, if only because it’s not every day you get to take on the national champs at your house.

Yes, I’d be surprised at a sellout. The last non-Lafayette sellout was back on October 21, 2000 for a Parents’ Day game, during the unbeaten streak and against Bucknell. 16,906. If the weather is a gorgeous September afternoon, then maybe 12-14,000.
