Tim Kempton’s Brophy Prep squad is off to a 4-0 start and Tim was named MVP of a tournament over Thanksgiving. Article linked below and also a tweet from an Arizona recruitnik.

Brophy Prep 6-foot-9 senior post Tim Kempton is playing as well as any player in the state currently. Kempton has really expanded his game!November 26, 2012 at 7:05 pm #8148Very good news. With Gabe leaving, this kid could start at the 5 next season. The limited video I saw of him, he looked more comfortable facing the basket than with his back to it. But, from this article it looks like he is finding success in the post and on the wing. Hopefully, sign of good things to come. He is pretty lean, but from other reports sounds like he is still growing into his body.
November 27, 2012 at 1:50 am #8154Good work, as always SBum, I had read same things about that tourney run that Tim and his Brophy Prep team went on.
I’m pretty excited about Kempton, he has the height, we know he is a legit 6’9 now from reports and GK tweets.
90 – I agree, he is not a “wide bodied” big, but if you look at some photos of him I think he has a frame that projects well, and I think he can nad will keep putting on weight. He looks to be working out hard and has put on some weight already and looks from some photos like he is pretty ripped. Unlike GK where you saw a frame early on that wasn’t going to change much, I think TK could get up to 240/245, and not 220 lean 6’9 guy. Reports have always been great shot/touch, but maybe with some added muscle/pro work ethic from his dad and some coaching he develops some work on the blocks, which seems like he is doing. Could be late bloomer with legit size and good pedigree. Sign me up all day.
By the way, awesome tweet from coach ott of AP signing his NLOI in a LU Hat and Ott tweeted to SW and TK and said something along the lines of you boys ready to win some chips with this guy. Got me pretty fired up man.

December 4, 2012 at 3:25 am #8279Recent game..37 points, 11 boards in a loss
December 4, 2012 at 3:27 am #8280Sorry..wish I’d find this all at the same time
Following a 37 point 11 rebound performance the night before, Tim Kempton ’13 put up 16 points, seven rebounds, four blocks and two assists, going six for 10 from the field and four for four from the free throw line
December 4, 2012 at 5:56 am #8284Great interview, you’re not kidding TMH. Love the part about really getting going in 7th grade, which is late by most standards. Hoping that means he has some big upside still. Love the part about playing time being available, yes, if you’re tall please apply, you’ll play! Kidding.
December 11, 2012 at 3:30 am #8373Brophy won an early test in the year Friday, Dec. 7, defeating the Chaparral Firebirds 57-49 at Chaparral. Kempton finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds, his second consecutive double-double.
December 11, 2012 at 4:01 am #8374Also, saw on twitter he posted photo of a weighing scale, and he is 226…i mentioned above, i see a nice projectable frame, think he could keep putting up lbs with these workouts and be a solid 240 in another year or two….wouldn’t that be something! Love it, this could be a great signing.
January 13, 2013 at 12:40 am #8880Tim Kempton just had another big time game scoring 34 of his team’s 49 points in a loss.

March 1, 2013 at 5:57 pm #9645Stats update for Kempton’s senior year. Pretty impressive:
