Now that baeball is getting a lot of social media attention….it’s time to spread the love to track & field.
They too are being represented at the NCAA regional meet. Ryan Mahalsky will be competing in the 5,000 M and 10,000 M and Courtney Avery who is only a soph will be competing in the high jump. If it not for an unfortunate injury, Elizabeth Weiller would likely be joining the group.
    It really is getting contagious.

If nobody has a problem, I’d like to do a little write-up on why it should continue in the fall. I’m bullish on Lehigh Athletics.

Wow…that’s big….Lehigh is really making a name in Oregon. Track Town, I believe is Eugene, OR.
Does anyone know who the last track athlete to make it to the NCAA Championships was?

Quick search, just discovered that Mueller qualified for Olympic trials in the marathon!

Tyler didn’t run outdoor track last season. Nobody got past Regionals in the last 2 years.
As for CC, Mueller raised the bar by finishing in 67th place in the NCAA meet, the highest finish ever by a Lehigh runner. Mahalsky beat that, this past season by finishing 46th. Top 40 are considered All-Americans. Elizabeth Weiller who returns next year finished 38th in the women’s race and became Lehigh’s 1st All American Cross Country runner.

Courtney Avery came oh so close in Joining Mahalsky in Eugene with a school record 1.79m in the high jump. That was good for 13th place. The top 12 advance. Good news is that she is only a sophomore.

Ryan Mahalsky finishes in 17th place out of 24 at the NCAA Championship. It may be Lehigh’s best finish ever.

    Congratulations Ryan!!!

Some news on the pole vault
2015 recruit won the PA AA pole vault this year after finishing 2nd last year. She has a vault of 12-4 already to her credit which would have broken the Lehigh indoor and outdoor records as well as won the Patriot League last year.

Max Jordan, a men’s pole vault recruit is a 2X 3rd place finisher in New York. His best vault of 15-4 would have been Lehigh’s highest finisher at the Patriot League meet (7th place)
