The Olympic decathlon champion is typically awarded the title as the world’s best athlete and perhaps for good reason. Trevor Knowles has won the Patriot League heptathlon (indoor) championship in each of his 1st 3 years and owns the school and league record coming into this season. He has also won the Patriot League decathlon championship in each of his first 3 years and owns both the school and league records there too.
There are no qualifying tournaments I’m told for the NCAA championship in these events. Instead the top 16 point scorers (heptathlon) and 24 (decathlon) qualify to compete. I believe that may come with an automatic AA (HM) designation. I have no idea where that cutoff is this year but today Trevor broke his own record in the heptathlon by 149 points. The 5,596 points he scored would have been good for 11th in last years national championship. In the process he badly beat, the man who finished 10th last year.

    Congratulations to Trevor.

Trevor’s point total was the 5th highest in the nation so far this year.

Maybe this kid should have been playing DB and/or running back kicks, too
