Certainly it’s early and there are many variables at play – strength of schedule being perhaps the biggest – but isn’t it interesting to see what’s happening in the PL?

PL Standings /W-L Record / PL Preseason Poll / Today’s Sagarin Ranking / Sagarin SOS

    1st Lafayette / 4-1 / 8th / 3rd / 340

    2nd Army / 3-1 / 4th / 1st / 275

    3rd Lehigh / 3-2 / 2nd / 2nd / 242

    4th Bucknell / 3-3 / 3rd / 4th / 276

    5th Navy / 2-3 / 7th / 6th / 274

    6th Colgate / 0-4 / 5th / 7th / 56

    7th Holy Cross / 0-5 / 1st / 5th / 41

    8th American/ 0-6 / 6th / 8th / 321

Lafayette………. in for a dose of reality facing both Georgetown and LaSalle in the next few days.

Army…….maybe for real establishing their 3-1 record against teams with a combined 11-7 record

LU, BU and Navy………..about where you’d expect them to be

Colgate………….can’t wait to face the likes of Dartmouth, CCSU and NC Central.

Holy Cross……….took on the toughest OOC schedule of all (closing ’08-’09 Pomeroy ranking) and hopes to stop the bleeding soon with W. Michigan, Marist, and Brown the next three up.

AU……….no help in sight except for games against Md. Eastern Shore and Brown – with G’town, Penn. State, and Florida waiting in the wings.

Today, the Patriot League ranks 28th among the 32 leagues in D-I basketball.

OOC Can we go 10-5? Better?

10-5 ? Why not. Thinking here is that we should be in, and probably favored to win, every game from here on out – with the exception of St. Joe’s and Dayton. Better take it one game at a time, however, beginning with a 4-1 (assuming they get by NJIT tonight) Stony Brook on Monday. Their only loss was on the road to a 3-0 Rhode Island team.

Looking forward to seeing the team at Columbia next Thursday.
