Had to be the ugliest win ever. 7 turnovers.
October 13, 2012 at 11:48 pm #7058Being the eternal optimist, look how far we’ve come from Andy’s early years when we continually found ways to lose these games. Perhaps we’re just trying not to show too much on film. Maybe luring future opponents into a false sense of security
October 14, 2012 at 2:12 am #7065Nice spin. True better to win ugly than constantly lose close games. Andy has taught them how to win. Just wish he and Dave could teach them how to focus. Andy talks about focus every week yet team , at least O, has failed to grasp the concept. 7TOs is unbelievable and I was there to witness it, altho truth GU stadium ridiiculous. To believe you can win a great feat by coaches. A repeat of those lapses against a marginally better team will end the streak.
October 14, 2012 at 12:11 pm #7067Well Rich, I chose to watch the hoyavision, talk about abysmal, one camera, far away, poor sound. I could not read one player number or see much of any detail and I had it on my 42″ screen. Not worth the $10.
As to the team performance, big change from a few years back where we surely have lost this game. Colvin may not be a great thrower, but he seems to be a very good leader. He will not doubt make someone a great employee after graduation.
Which leads to another question I have had for some time. Since Mike got hurt his freshman year and had very little playing time, would he be eligible for a 5th year if he was so inclined? Could 86 handle that?
October 14, 2012 at 5:02 pm #7069I’m glad we’re 7-0, but it’s tough to watch …
It is great to see them winning close games; no doubt the confidence is incredible. I think the fact they think they can do anything leads to taking early risks that could lead to big plays or INTs. Colvin should have been intercepted another time in LU territory in the first half (end of first quarter I think) as he tried to avoid a sack.
In some ways, this team’s confidence reminds me of the 1979 team — I had to look it up. It won lots of games — few blowouts, even against shaky teams. That team’s offense was not as good (no quick strike offense) as this one’s, but its defense probably was better … and they lost in the I-AA final after winning only one prior playoff game.

Hoyavision was a joke. It was barely audible. One camera. No graphics, though — only after the game I found that the gametracker was good …
Why bother?
Anyone know if as part of PL scholarships, teams have to upgrade video capabilities?
October 14, 2012 at 5:40 pm #7071Upgrade would be nice. I put game on my phone, thanks to a link from Bogie, no audio that I could hear. Video pretty clear if a bit far removed. Still better than live view at field. We were low so had terrible view of anything upfield or on the other side.
