Other than Mackey, who is going to get double figures this year for Lehigh? I am penciling MM for 17.5 per game, which is a healthy boost from his career average of around 10, with a high of 12 last season. Last year, Mackey got about 9 attempts per game, and I think this year he is going to get more like 15 looks a game.
Regular rotation guys who I don’t think get into double figures would include AD, CS, SC, JG, CB (if he is in rotation). So, unless we are going to play in the 50’s all season, somebody is going to need to score the ball on a consistent basis, and get double figures per game.
Is that JC, TK, MS, AP, SW? Based on projected minutes, I am hoping both JC and TK can get in double digits. Thoughts?
September 17, 2013 at 6:26 pm #11317I don’t see Mackey getting 17 ppg. I think he will be closer to 14. He is a career 40% shooter (43% last year)with defenses focusing their attention elsewhere. He averaged 11.9 ppg after CJ got hurt last year and 12 on the dot before. Also, he can be aggressive when he wants but has good passing instincts and I don’t see him changing his mentality entirely, even as the surrounding cast changes.
I think AD will get into double figures barely. In the 10-11 range. I’m hopeful JC will get there as well. A 12/8 year would be huge from him. Other than that, let’s just say “one of the freshmen.” If any one of TK, MS, AP, or SW score 10 a game we should be in decent shape this year and great shape down the line.

September 18, 2013 at 12:07 am #11322I agree that one of the freshmen may have to step up and score, but I would look for JC to have a huge impact offensively this year. I am saying that maybe 16 a game. MM scoring 17.5 is a little high and I could see CS close to 10 a game. The frosh class is talented including CR which most of us have forgotten but for any of them to provide double figures would be a huge surprise.
September 18, 2013 at 1:20 am #11323To take the question a bit more seriously: I’m still hopeful the SC is our legit 2 this year, purely for shooting. Beyond that – somebody else still needs to score. That’s either gotta be TK, or a surprise youngster: AP, DC, or JC. I’m VERY hopeful about MS, but I don’t think he sees enough floor time at his size, and behind MM and CS at point.
September 18, 2013 at 2:54 am #11325Read this post early and then travelled out of country a d now responding but I think 14/15 ppg is close to max for Mackey, but if he is put in full time shooting guard role and plays off the ball the majority of the time perhaps he busts past 15 ppg. As for who else joins him I am going JC as the big I have confidence right away. And my next two guys are the first two frosh to commit in TK and AP, we got to hope one of them breaks right big time, hoping both are legit instant impact guys.
