True not a priority this year but we did offer on 5 or 6. Obviously got none of them. Most went schollie or IL. The one to Lafayette tough to take compounded by Keller a QB/DE switching from us to Pards. Annoying, but I concede that recruits will not fell comfortable at every school ( Altho, in my heart I can never understand why a recruit would pick any other school than Lehigh ). I may be a tad onesided on that issue.
I realize that a qb recruit looking here will see 3 A-S (Ariz,NJ,NJ) and 1 All western California in front of him. Is that why????
February 2, 2012 at 9:06 pm #4724actually, Gum and Kondas both played QB, but were recruited as ATH and LB.
suspect that we were hoping for Few, but he chose Cornell. Still with all the QBs on the roster, not really a big deal for this class. Should be a priority for next year. No FB yet either, although not a big priority for this year either.
Only 23 identified so far, and with 28 seniors on this years roster, should be some more names we don’t know of yet. Stand by.
February 2, 2012 at 9:13 pm #4725Kondas also a QB. Colvin , BB and poutier certainly . McHale altho an A-S qb, probably not. he ran a run oriented O in HS. A very good athlete, S or perhaps even an H-back ala Fitzie this year
February 2, 2012 at 9:56 pm #4726I was not overly optimistic about Few since I chatted with someone who met the family at the Comfort Inn during their stay. It appeared that money would be the deciding factor and apparently it was. I was looking for some quality linemen and RBs and seemed to get both but only time will tell how they progress.
February 3, 2012 at 4:18 am #4733Every student has their priority, but I think the fact we already have a decent stable of QBs makes a recruit think twice about how much of a chance he’s going to get, whereas going to a school that’s ‘down’ gives the sense that there may be more of an opportunity to get into the lineup quicker.
February 3, 2012 at 3:06 pm #4742Lehigh had an offensive POY, and three all-state QBs backing him up. Lafayette had four kids that couldn’t hold down the job. If you’re an incoming freshman QB looking to get on the field immediately, which team do you choose?
In an ideal world, Lehigh wins every battle, but as much as we want everyone, for the kids it comes down to different things. And in this day and age, immediate playing time is a much more compelling recruiting pitch than you might imagine.
February 3, 2012 at 3:22 pm #4743True enough, I suppose. Still unsettling to lose out on all qb offers. This class has lots of speed, agile OL, a NG maybe 2 in Manganiello and Jamgochian, a great setof LBs. Much to be happy about. We may not have a Patsy group , but it is one that fills our needs superbly. I expect a couple ofmore recruits before 2/8
February 3, 2012 at 3:39 pm #4744I am especially excited about the 2 RBs.
February 4, 2012 at 5:24 am #4750Yes, this is shaping up to be a real quality class. The addition of the LB out of Ohio is a real get.
