Everyone seems to need instant gratification as far as winning. Try following women’s soccer which is now 6-0-1 and is the only unscored upon team in the NCAA Div 1. They have not given up a goal in 560 minutes of play this year and have outscored their opponents 14-0.
The next game is Saturday against Holy Cross. Word of warning..women’s soccer typically finds a way to shut down their offense when entering league play :-(.September 19, 2016 at 1:09 am #28214In case there is anyone else following this, Lehigh won their game vs Holy Cross this weekend and pitched another shutout. They are now 6-0-1 and unscored upon in 650 minutes this season.

Just returned from the Temple game tonight in which Lehigh won in the 1st OT 1-0. Obviously the scoreless streak is still intact. It now stands at almost 750 minutes of soccer without yielding a score. That’s 12-1/2 hours. The next game may be the biggest test against Colgate on Saturday at Hamilton.
September 21, 2016 at 11:57 pm #28287Lehigh Women’s Soccer is ranked #9 in the Mid Atlantic region
September 22, 2016 at 1:21 am #28295..I am sure you know how these rankings work – but a brief explanation for those who don’t. Each region consists of all the teams in leagues that are generally concentrated in a given area, regardless of where a specific team is located. The so-called Mid-Atlantic region includes all teams in the Ivy, Patriot, CAA, and A-10 – even the teams in Boston or Georgia. And the Northeast includes Marquette, South Florida, and Memohis, among others. It is much stronger than the Mid-Atlantic, as are most others.
Boston U, the PL preseason favorite, has played perhaps the toughest ooc schedule in PL history and gotten pounded. But I would still regard them as the PL favorite at this point.

Did you post that before or after Bucknell beat BU 2-0 :-).
You and I both know who the real favorite is in the PL this year.
What I’m hoping for is payback for 2005. In that year, Lehigh was 6-1 in the PL and 14-2-1 overall only allowing 4 goals all season. Bucknell then beat them in a shootout (6-5) in the 1st round of the PL Championship.Bucknell is very, very good this year.

Actually wrote it after the Bucknell win over Boston, which really was 1-0. (BU got a counter goal with 10 seconds left to make the margin look bigger.) However Boston U actually had the better of play for a significant amount of the game. Bucknell has better forwards and a better goalkeeper, but Boston is better in the midfield and possibly on defense.
Bucknell has a very tough group of road games this year, so it wouldn’t surprise me if Boston ends up winning the league or at least tying.
