As Hoya second half showed ,we cannot defend a pass first O. 3-3-5 already has a built in nickel package with 5 DBs. Hoyas went after the Rover, which we never adjusted to successfully,. Cross likes quick shots underneath. Raymond is much like Buvknell’s Carter, very fast forcing D to keeping Ss back.
Agreectho,it may help if we put Montgomery in that slot
The biggest difference I saw in D between the halves was the lack of pressure on the QB. Losing Robb part of the cause I guess. Dont see a miracle transformation improving coverage. Adding a 6th may help,if staff puts time in this werk to add it and players know their assignments in that set.
Otherwise, pass D falls to DL and LBs getting pressure.
A shootout will not end up well for us.
