The Unofficial Georgetown Commit List for the Class of 2017

High school players across the country right now are making decisions on their college futures, and some are making choices involving Patriot League schools.

The news trickles out slowly, from a variety of sources, and finally ends with the official announcement from the schools of the incoming football recruit class.

But with a little work (and a lot of help), it’s possible to get a list together of verbal commits to the individual Patriot League schools.

Below the flip, get a sneak peek of Georgetown’s class of 2017, including links to some highlights, and also embedded video clips – and come back to this page often, as I’m going to be updating it frequently over the next few weeks until the Hoyas officially release their Class of 2017.

Bucknell’s Trouble With Math

Bucknell’s Trouble With Math

Late this past Friday, at a time that is popular for dumping unpleasant news, Bucknell president John Bravman, well, dumped some unpleasant news on an unsuspecting public.

Like all the schools of the Patriot League, Bucknell prides itself as being one of the most selective schools in the country.  Not just anyone can get in; you need to be near the top of your class.

So it came as a shock to me, and plenty of others, when Mr. Bravman dropped the bombshell that Bucknell had reported false SAT and ACT averages for a seven year stretch from 2006 to 2012.

It was a shocking admission that makes one ask the question: Why?

Realignmentaggedon: Monmouth’s Bid NEC Associate Football Membership Denied

Realignmentaggedon: Monmouth’s Bid NEC Associate Football Membership Denied

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll know that sometime Lehigh opponent Monmouth recently made a move to leave the Northeast Conference (NEC) in all sports to join the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in all the sports that they sponsor.

As it turns out, the MAAC does not sponsor three sports in which the Hawks compete: women’s field hockey, women’s bowling, and football, which meant that Monmouth president Paul G. Gaffney II needed to apply back to the NEC to become an associate member in all three sports to remain.

It didn’t seem impossible that Monmouth would remain in the league in these three sports.

But today, Monmouth got their reply from NEC commissioner Noreen Morris, returning the will of the NEC presidents: yes to field hockey, and no bowling and football.

With Monmouth’s “Plan A” going by the wayside, the Hawks are now certainly looking at their “Plan B”‘s – one of which could very well be the Patriot League.

Lehigh Stays Undefeated in League Play

Lehigh went on the road to the friendly confines of Sojka Pavilion in Lewisburg and won for the third time in a little over 11 months, becoming the first team to ever win three straight at Sojka, this time by a final score of 65-62. Lehigh playing again without the services of their All American guard CJ…

The Unofficial Fordham Commit List for the Class of 2017

If it’s late January, that can only mean one thing for Lehigh football fans: the steady stream of commitments coming from high school seniors.

In past years, I have posted one humongous posting of all the Patriot League teams whom I’ve confirmed are headed to Patriot League schools.

This year, though, I’ve decided to break out my posted commitments by school.

Below the flip, get a sneak peek of Forhdam’s class of 2017 – and come back to this page often, as I’m going to be updating it frequently over the next few weeks.

Lehigh 3-0 in Patriot League Play

Lehigh jumped out on Colgate from the opening tap by scoring the first 9 points of the game and led wire to wire in a 60-45 victory on Saturday night in front of a fired up Stabler Arena crowd, pushing the Mountain Hawks to a 3-0 record in league play. The old adage is that “defense…
