HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH COACHING

Wow, a bit hypersensitive huh. Who blamed the coaching staff?

AND AS FOR THE FUTURE OF LEHIGH FOOTBALL
IT IS AS BRIGHT AS EVER!!

Unless you just started following Lehigh football 2 years ago, many of us have seen far better performances to get excited about than this bright star you see flying across the sky in your world. I can see the case for optimism with the offense, but the defense…..see below.

AS FOR THE DEFENSE BASHERS- EVERY PATRIOT LEAGUE TEAM GAVE UP ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF POINTS SO I GUESS THERE WILL BE A LOT OF OPENINGS IN THE OFF SEASON

There is absolutely ZERO basis for your argument of our defense. Our defense gave up 49+ points on 4 different occasions this year. The DC and the 3-3-5 scheme should both be canned.

And to refute your other point that we are just as bad as the rest of the Patriot League (the conversation on how we should be happy we are just as terrible as the rest of a bad conference on a whole is a topic for another day).

Here are the Defensive rankings per NCAA (out of 123 FCS teams). The 5 numbers following the teams, in order, are Total Yards/game rank, Rush yds/game rank, Pass yds/gm rank, Total pts/gm rank and Total point/game

BUCKNELL-32-32-48-22-19.2
HOLY CROSS-69-66-82-50-24.2
GEORGETOWN-63-52-78-54-25.1
COLGATE-67-49-92-76-28.5
FORDHAM-85-43-113-77-28.8
LAFAYETTE-105-100-102-96-33.7
LEHIGH-104-93-103-105-35.7

So basically we gave up almost twice as many points per game as Bucknell.

The final test for the defense will be this Saturday. The juggernaut that is Lafayette’s offense is 122 out of 123 (averaging 11.5 pts/gm). Hopefully the 3-3-5 can stop a team that barely averages double digits on Saturday.
