DB Riley O’Neil, Immaculata, Sr.
The senior holds scholarship offers from New Hampshire and Sacred Heart. As a free safety, O’Neil ranked second on the team with 68 tackles and second on the team with 53 solo hits. He intercepted four passes and had four pass breakups. The transfer of Yajaha Banks added offensive responsibility for O’Neil, who carried 45 times for 246 yards and five touchdowns. He was also utilized as a receiver out of the backfield.
This is from the Courier News as of 12/12. He was 1st Team Defense.
Are we getting a bit safety heavy yet, considering that McCloskey will likely be anchoring one of the slots over the next 3 years. Or perhaps this is Andy’s way of saying that we will be using the 3-3-5 into perpetuity. smh
