According to Jeff Goodman, CBS Sports College Basketball Insider, both Navy and Bucknell will see action this year in preseason basketball tournaments. The Bison will head off to the 2K Sports Classic while the Midshipmen head south to the South Padre Invitational. Where will we be come November? After receiving an invite to the 2K Sports Classic last year and distinguishing ourselves in post-season play, one would hope The Gazelle Group, sponsors this year of the 2K Sports and Gotham Classics, would bring us back for an encore performance in 2012. With BU in the 2K, hope now turns to either the Legends or Gotham events. Of course, there are other programs – most notably the Preseason NIT – that have yet to fill their brackets. With the talk of Pitt being on our schedule (see earlier posts), one could jump to the conclusion that the NIT awaits us. But, not so fast! Until the schools themselves make the announcements, nothing is for sure.
