This Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. Lehigh will take on The Big Red in Ithaca. Match will be a sell out as it is being held in the ‘small’ gym with capacity of about 1,100. The winner will likely get the inside track in getting selected for the Big 10 Challenge on Febuary 20-21. Top ranked Big Ten team plays top ranked non-Big Ten team. Second ranked BT wrestles second highest non-BT, and so on down through #8. Each Conference with an auto bid, with one wild card selection. Winner of Lehigh-Cornell will likely be the highest ranked EIWA team.

Probably a foot of snow by then in LV on Saturday. I’m heading to Temple/SMU basketball that night in Philly, and worried about storm.

Hamilto likely to get lake effct snow. The coastal storm for the rest of us. As of now ,track unclear,so between 3-12 inches.
If no upsets,LU should get the W. For me ,can Bron evrr solve Dean? Which Beckman will appear? Can Riddick make weight?

Storm could be problematic down here. Little snow predicted for Ithaca. Match on paper very close..I see 4 weights each with two toss ups. If the toss ups split, then we’re looking at bonus points. Mason seems to be coming back, but going up against the #1 guy in the country should certainly be a real barometer. D.Cruz initially looks like a favorite, but the guy he’s going against has some very close losses to very highly ranked guys. We really need a win at 125. Preisch on paper an underdog, but he has the stuff to surprise. The biggest match will be 184 and whether Brown can finally break through against Dean. One must think,”sooner or later”.

We spend so much time pontificating (I always wanted to use that word) about how mediocre our football team was or how disappointing our basketball team is and yearn for spring and softball. Yet our wrestling team is ranked #6 in the nation and there is so little chatter. Huge match tomorrow.

    Go Lehigh :-)

Beckman and Riddick have packed it in, sadly neither has shown any guts. Cornell wins 24 – 12.

Wow, 133 Nashon Garrett (injury) and 184 Gabe Dean (illness) are both out for this match. Both are ranked #1 in the country. Cornell will forfeit at 133. Given the implications of this match, that’s huge!!

Nate Brown wins by TF. Lehigh up 21-10. Cornell will need a pair of falls in the last 2 bouts to win the match.
