The normally slow starting softball team is now 17-3. They’re getting great pitching and solid timely hitting. This team is built on speed.

’15 recruit Emily Sorem started out her season with a no-hitter with 14 Ks.

Still think Gate and Army will be the toughest. Bucknell having a pretty good OOC may be in the hunt.

Wow, Fran really has a juggernaut rolling this year. Steam rolled Laughyette and didn’t even allow a run in three games! This might be one of the best teams ever. We had a few in the past that relied heavily on one or two players to carry/pitch the load, but this group seems more like a well oiled machine with a lot of contributing parts.

I caught a pair of the Lafayette games. This team is based on great pitching, the 2 best in the league by far, and speed. Don’y count on this juggernaut ending anytime soon. Next year’s recruiting class, at least on paper, rivals the current year’s junior class.
Fran will be bringing in 3 career .500 hitters in Brianna Gerhardt, Ashley Quidolit and Jenn Stoll. The biggest catch however may be Emily Sorem, who is currently 6-0, allowing no runs to date. She has a no-hitter with 14 Ks, a one hitter with 16 Ks and just recently threw a 2 hitter with 16 Ks against the defending State 6A champs.

There are 295 Div 1 softball teams. As of March 30, Lehigh is ranked #76. Since then, they buried BU twice and leading Bucknell 5-0 in the 2nd. As a point of reference, Penn State is #70

Lehigh sweeps Bucknell with 2 more mercy rule wins.

They have now won 7 out of their last 8 games with the 8 run rule. All of them in PL. They have also won 15 in a row.

Lehigh softball may be the best team in the Northeast/Middle Atlantic. Penn State and Hofstra are the other two in contention. This is Lehigh’s most successful program and still improving!

Lehigh finishes off Bucknell to win their 15th straight game. That sets both a Lehigh and a Patriot League record.

Juggernaut! Woman may be rubbing off on the men a bit as they took 3/4 from the Bison as well!
